Help in a time of healing
I just want to say, the staff did an excellent job taking care of Mahi. He's only been boarded twice in seven years. I can also appreciate the fact they could fit Mahi in at the last minute during spring break. They were very attentive when anything happened or changed with him. For example, when Mahi had been away for a week he began to suffer from anxiety and the staff made sure to ask for permission in prescribing something to calm him. With me not being able to care for him due me being on crutches for three weeks and in therapy for four more, the time and attention put into caring for him couldn't have been more on time. In the future I would definitely use their boarding services again and highly recommend them.

Very friendly and accommodating
Village Vets is a wonderful place to take your pets! They took care of my sweet baby and helped me with the cost. I would recommend them to everyone!

Need Classes In Customer Service
I will not go back to Village Vets/Stone Mountain simply because of the attitude of the staff at the front desk. One "girl" in particular thinks she is the know all be all and will not admit to mistakes. Her arrogance is annoying - I hope someone puts her in her place.

Who's there?
I liked them when I first started taking my animals to them, but things started changing. First the charges went up. Then I noticed a lot of turn-over with the staff and more importantly with the vets. Every time I went, there was a different vet. I decided to switch to a place where I knew what to expect.

GREAT STAFF BUT TOO PROFIT DRIVEN
Vets should be compensated for their training, expertise & practice overhead. Charging a little more than market price for the area is fine, but doing unnecessary procedures to boost profit indicates a poor compromise in principles. Please know this is a beautiful facility w/a caring & well credentialed staff. Our experience: we took a pet there for an obvious problem & VV did an exam & in-house procedure which told them absolutely nothing. (ovr $250) The next 2 vet/surgeon consults-exams only-quickly concluded the condition was INOPERABLE, but gave us enough info so we could decide next steps. The 3rd consult-also only an exam-was with a non-profit vet & surgeon. Their assessment was exactly the same-inoperable. The procedure pushed by VV as needed for diagnosis was useless. We authorized a multi-point biospy elsewhere. Cost for the surgical procedure, anesthesia, overnight boarding, ant-biotics and a follow-up visit was less than the exam and simple office procedure at VV. It was clearly unnecessary & used to boost the profit margin for the visit at VV. So, 3 clinics determined quickly from exam alone that this was inoperable. Can't imagine what a biopsy through VV would have been. They were not doing us a favor by delaying an honest assessment. Lovely trend-setting facility if $$$ is not a concern. Our pet is fine, otherwise healthy, but may manifest issues in the next year.
