I placed a take-out order which included a GARDEN omelet. I arrived home ready to enjoy a delicious breakfast but my husband bit into a piece of HAM in the GARDEN Omelet. Thumbs-Up's web site states: " We are not vegetarian but we are vegan- and vegetarian- friendly and we have several several [sic] vegetarian items on the menu." So I called them. They offered a new omelet but I live 20 miles away and gas prices are still ridiculous so driving for an omelet is nonsensical (side note: some quality restaurants would offer to refund your order but I guess not all establishments are as customer service savvy - but I digress). I told the gentleman I thought they would be concerned about such an occurrence - especially since they patronize vegetarians. He then let me know that they are not a vegetarian restaurant and all meals ARE COOKED ON THE SAME GRILL THEY COOK PORK ON. So, why would I want a new omelet? This is officially my last meal from Thumbs-Up. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS INCREASED MY APPRECIATION OF COOKING AT HOME - AT LEAST I HAVE A BETTER IDEA ABOUT WHAT MY FAMILY IS EATING.
