My husband and I have read the reviews below, and we agree with everything. We will never take our car there again. We simply had a nail in our tire. We asked them to remove the nail and patch the hole. When we picked up our car and drove it home we realized the nail was still in the tire and it had not been fixed at all. The customer service was horrible. We go to Wade Automotive down the street now and they are wonderful! Excellent service and the best value we have found. We highly reccomend them. I don't know how Tilden stays in business.

After attempting to have my vehicle fixed at Tilden I can say without a doubt that all the negative reviews below are TRUE. The service is horrible, they do not complete the job, and the mechanic "Ron" is everything stated below and more. The buzz around town is very negative concerning this business. I too have had to take my vehicle to another mechanic and have all of the work redone. Please, take your car elsewhere and spare yourself the inconvenience and headaches. Our city should not support a business such as this. I would encourage everyone who has had a negative experience to write the Dunwoody Crier, as I am, so they can be exposed. Thank you.

Went to the shop for due to my car was losing power and shutting off. I had an Diagnostic complete and was advise the following Spark Plugs - 11.25 Both O2 Senors - 400.00 Coil - 99.00 I ask him ( Ron) to replace the O2 Sensor since I was not comfortably of changing those out. Long story short he was upset that I done basic work on my car and that I didn't want to pay 11.25 ea for spark plugs and then said that the plugs I put in the car less than 12 hours ago was bad. I was treated unfairly, and they were complete rude. I have read all of there reviews after fact and YES the negative reviews are true.. They have horrible customer service... Especially Ron. They will say "all we were trying to do is fix your car", however fixing my car does not mean treat your customers like crap and get mad and yell at them, when they did basic work

I took my car there for transmission problems because I like to support our local economy and the location was convenient for me. They offered to rebuild the transmission for a comparable price, also to do a brake job and replace a censor. They said the job would take a week or less. FOUR weeks later they returned my car to me in worse shape than when I dropped it off. Pollen all over the leather interior because they left the windows open, dirty rags in the front seat, and the car was jumping and shaking like crazy and could barely make it up a small hill. I promptly cancelled the check for $3,000 and returned the car to them. A week later they said the car was fixed, but would not release it to me until I paid cash. Also, come to find out, they did not replace the censor that I was charged for. They were so ugly and dreadful. They saw a single woman and thought I was an easy target for fraud. Now I am finding out they put after market parts on the car, and I even had to have the brakes redone at my own expense. They say that they do a 12 month warranty of all parts and labor, but I would literally rather pay someone else to do it then to walk back into that place and subject myself to the nasty attitudes and bad language that the mechanic has there. (His name is Ron) He even made sexual comments to me, and lied to my father about the car being at the transmission shop across town, when it actually never left their lot. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE THEY ARE MEAN CROOKS

I couldn't tell you how they price or the quality of their repair. They may be the best ever, I wouldn't know because after speaking with the gentleman who answered the phone who, wasn't concerned so much as to my problem as he was to telling me the problem with other auto shops I just had to hang up. It seems like he's one of those guys that thinks everyone knows nothing and he's the only one who knows anything. I wouldn't take my car there.

It was actually 5 minutes before we closed and most of my techs had already left. It was not a fuse that needed replacing, she asked us to replace a taillight bulb which she was providing. This required removing the taillight assembly from the trunk about a 30 minute job. I told i was sorry but I didn't have anyone to do that for her then, but if she came back in the morning we would be glad to take care of it for her. We were NOT rude, just being honest with her.

I have a water pump, fuel pump and ignition lock service done on my truck over the last three years and a EGR valve on my car. Never once did they fail to do what they said they would;they almost always went 1 better. They are not cheapest, but they are far from the most expensive. I do not get my emissions done there because of the often long wait and cost.

Gene, I just wanted to thank you (and Ron) for taking the time to take a look at my car today. I will bring the car back to you for its next oil change in order to get the rear brakes worked on along with the spark plugs and wires if I am holding on to it for a bit. I have been searching for a good mechanic ever since I moved to Dunwoody, and after word of mouth, and now experiencing your service first hand I can say I've found one. Thanks and I will be seeing you in a few thousand miles.

Last year I tried Tilden for emission testing and was told that the machine was not calibrated yet...I went to Chevron. This year my husband went there at 7:55AM and he was welcomed in and had no problem getting his emissions test...two cars on different days. I went there at 8:05 (they open at 8) and the mechanic stated "We do not open until 8 and do not do emissions testing until 9 because the machine is callibrating". Interesting that my husband had no problem both times he went at 8. I will not be going back there for anything.

I have had a problem with my car starting and have taken it too the Dealer and they could not fix my problem after charging me $850.00 . A friend told me to try Tilden as they had been using them for years and were very satisfied. I am happy to state that Tilden fixed my problem. I will definately be taking my car back to Tilden if I have any car problem. I also thought the Employees were very courteous.

Have used this shop for several years and referred others but NEVER again. Took vehicle in with a specific problem and asked that it be fixed while also giving a once over for some admitted deferred maintenance. Initially advised that original problem was not in fact the problem and a long list of routine type maintenance issues had caused the vehicle to stall. After Tilden kept the car longer than I was first told it would take for repairs, I finally picked it up, paid a fat bill for all the "routine" maintenance and was told maybe in fact the "original" problem was an issue but I could drive it for a few more weeks without a problem. Well, less than 48 hours later I had a big problem when I was stranded at night with a vehicle that would not crank. After an insulting telephone call with the mechanic the next morning, I finally spoke with the owner and had the vehicle towed back to Tilden. Unfortunately, the owner was not working that day and the mechanic proceeded to tell me that I was cause for him having his "as? chewed out" and that my complaints about the service were and I quote "bull sh.." Needless to say, my vehicle and I took an exit and I wouldn't suggest Tilden to my worst enemy. No follow up from owner and no apology for mechanic's behavior. Beware!

My experience with Tilden Car Care couldn't be more different from the first two posters. My husband chose them because, of all the people he spoke to, they were the most friendly and knowledgeable, but our satisfaction ended there. They tried to make us take our car home, saying it was fixed, when it clearly was not and was even making a horrendous noise that it wasn't making when we brought it in. We asked them to look at it again, and after having it for a week, they began to diagnose new issues that were probably there when they charged us over $1200 the previous summer for the same repairs. To top all that, they kept the car for a week, and left the windows open in the height of pollen season. To their credit, they didn't charge us to replace the same part over and over, as it was still under their warranty, and they weren't rude, per se, even throwing in a new hose for free. They just acted like they wanted to get rid of us, which they did. We finally took the car to Atlanta Auto Pro, who fixed the problem quickly and courteously, and it's never run better. I'm happy to hear that someone had a good experience with Tilden, but we weren't impressed with their diagnostic abilities at all, and their customer service ranged from great to mediocre in the span of just one week.
