I have been going to Toni & Guy for close to 7 years now and yesterday decided that I was done. I have had some good experiences and good hair cuts in the past and so kept trying them to see if the last few experiences were one-offs. Unfortunately, at this point, my poor experiences outnumber the good. Yesterday, I had an appointment at 7 pm (Wednesday nigjt). I reached at 6:50 and was told that the stylist will be with me soon. She came in at 7:10 and 7:25 and both times told me she was almost done with another client and will be with me in a moment. It was 7:50 by the time she was able to pay attention to me. To her credit, she did take time to listen to what I want. My hair is thick and it takes an easy 2 hours to complete styling and blow drying it. But she was done at 9:00 pm (closing time) on the dot. Result was half my hair was not yet dried or styled - just cut. And the hair cut itself was nothing close to what I wanted or envisioned or shown her pictures of. I was very specific in saying that while I wanted a few layers, I wanted them to be spaced out. My hair looks a mess with the number of layers she has given me. I am so upset right now! I am done with T&G

I felt reassured when I went in knowing that everyone has to go through the same training in order to work at Toni n Guy, so I didn't worry too much about who did my hair. And after all, I hadn't been to the salon in over a year so I didn't know who was still on staff. I had a four o'clock appointment which started right on time. I have a lot of hair so it isnt unusual for me to sit in a salon chair for up to 3 hours for a highlight and cut. Well, three hours later, she had JUST finished applying the color. 45 minutes later, after being shampooed, I was brought to a mirror for the first time. To my horror, my hair had gone from blonde to the most disgusting gray-red-black mixture I had ever seen. Everyone there assured me that it would look better once it had been cut and dried; however that only made the color worse. Devastated, I asked for the color to be fixed, and the colorist said that she would the next morning. She assure me that this time it would only take 1 1/2 hours, tops. So I arrived at 9:00 sharp the next morning. By 11:30 I could not believe that she was just finishing applying highlights. I finally asked to speak to a manager because I was so upset. She confirmed that

I go maybe once a year but always love the cut that Aaron gives me. He takes the time to really talk about ideas before he starts. I always say to him "Do what you do best. I trust you." I'm never disappointed. A tip if you like the Bed Head products - Ulta has buy 2, get 2 free sales a few times a year. I stock up on my favorites from Ulta instead of in the salon.

rebecca is an amazing stylist, she listens to what you want, makes sure your hair will work with the style you're looking for, and give you something that will make you feel great when you walk out of the salon. i have never hated a single cut she's given me over the past 7-8 years! the only issues i have are the prices, which to me are quite high but the quality is worth it, and the snooty attitude from the desk staff. usually people there are quite friendly but the last time i went i had an unfortunate encounter with less than pleasant front desk clerk.
