I was drawn to service my SUV with Toyotechs after reading reviews of Kudzu. Unfortunately my first visit became a nightmare and ended up paying $1700 engine related work. It was some time ago that these phonies tried to get me to pay them $4600 for repairs that I didn't need (supposedly I needed a "new" transmission and a catalytic converter). It is now y-e-a-r-s... later. My car is still running fine thanks to Randall Byrd (who is unfortunately no longer at that Aamco on Covington Hwy). Just picked up my car, first time customer and very happy with service and value. Likable folks. cr
Like most, I discovered ToyoTechs by referral. I've only been a customer for about a year and a half, but here are four examples of why I will keep coming back. 1. Dealer told me four fluids needed to be flushed and replaced at over $500. ToyoTechs technician said all were fine and showed me samples of each. 2. Shortly after I bought a used 2000 Avalon, they diagnosed it with that model's infamous sludge problem and Fred advised me on how to get warranty coverage through a dealer. 3. They efficiently diagnosed some uncommon problems. 4. When I ask for an oil change and advice on anything that needs to be done, they don't try to sell me services I don't need.
The dealer wanted to charge me three times as much for the same service. They said they would give me a loaner car, but for $800 in one day I can rent a car! I love the service at this place. They really seem honest and I won't take my car anywhere else.
Their work is great but the cost was not a savings.
I own a 2001 toyota 4runner and I get all my oil changes done at Toyotechs now. Cheaper than the dealer, great service, I can usually walk in early without an appointment and I don't have to wait too long. I highly recommend for anyone who owns a toyota or lexus.
I have consistently had good experiences with Toyotechs. They are fair and reasonable in their pricing and they get the job done, correctly, the first time.

I have been taking my Solara to Toyotechs for 4 years and I have had nothing but good experiences. The owners are very nice and almost always at the shop. The waiting area is pleasant and their work has always been exceptional.
I think Toyotechs is outstanding. I've been taking my cars there for 12 years, starting with my old Hyundai back when they were called Import Auto Works and currently with my 95 Camry that I bought in 97. I now have over 270k on it and it's running great, in part due to the excellent service I've had from Toyotechs. I seriously doubt I will ever buy any other car besides a Toyota, because I wouldn't want to even try to find another honest mechanic. They are great for women because they don't treat you condescendingly or with any sexist attitude. Thanks to Fred, Jennie and Joe for many years of great auto service, and customer service above and beyond the call of duty on many occasions!
I took my car into them on a recommendation from a solid mechanic. When I went to pick up my '94 celica, I was charged 275$ for some spark plug wires, a distributor cap, and labor. I did not authorize them to put the cap on, they did not call me in regards to what services they performed on my car, then they lied about it and said I authorized it when I never did. I don't recommend anyone take their car to them if you want fair and quality service. Not only did they charge me 275$ but they basically told me, to my face, that they indeed rip people off frequently, because as the owner said (and I quote) "this is the modern world we live in and things like this happen. I have to make money too. If it takes us 2 hours, we will charge you for four" That being said... don't take your car there.
Our Reputation is something we worked hard for, that is why we are so busy. Calling us Rip-offs is not fair and over the top. Fact is we fixed his car and we charged him only $200.00 NOT the $275.00. he claims he paid. He was so out of control we felt we had to call Chamblee to moderate. He also blamed us for not being able to buy groceries to feed his baby. The car was running so poorly we thought he wanted it fixed. He did admit, when he decided to comeback to pay the bill,that the car did run much better. Most people like and trust us and send their family and friends to us. We spend very little on advertising. We depend and grow on repeat business. Unlike other shops that advertise non-stop. A site like Kudzu can be great for consumers and business alike. Kudzu apparently chooses to let anyone say what ever they feel about a company no mater how unfair and will only let us respond as best we can. This young family went on this site to hurt us. They were sent by another shop not buy kudzu.com. In 19 years in this business this was the second out of control customer that we had to call for police intervention. Not bad when you consider we service over 5,000 cars a year.
We since decided the real problem was this young couple was at the very least, flat broke. We are totally upset to have our reputation unfairly damaged and are embarrassed by this posting, we hope it will not remain long. Please read through the rest of the posting for a true picture of how we conduct our business.

my prerunner was due for the 30k service. a dealer wanted almost $450. for the service. i was shocked! you can look at your owmers manuals and see whats due typically at 30k. $450., really? i couldn't do it. there had to be a better, cheaper way. i'd heard kudzu.com on a local am radio station and found them and then found toyotechs! wow!!, so happy! all i truly needed was an....AIR FILTER! +/-$25. fred and his crew displayed truth, honesty and integrity,and the ability to provide value for their customers. i saved $425.00 today at toyotechs! i'm still amazed. he said " your gonna need new tires soon, i can recommend a tire place where we send all our customers, they're the best." they are also AAA approved. such a positve experiance, thanks fred and thanks kudzu!
Note: The reviews that I gave are based solely on a conversation that I had with Fred and not from actually haven done business with them yet. However, I plan to do business with them in the near future and I will update this review accordingly. From my conversation with Fred and what I've read here, I expect that it will be five stars all around. I just phoned this business for the first time today (after discovering the grossly overinflated and extremely variable prices that I got for parts and, to a lesser extent, labor from three local Toyo dealership service reps). I spoke with Fred for nearly 30 minutes, while they were officially closed, about his business and their philosphy on service. We discussed various services. In the end, I felt quite comfortable with the thought of taking my vehicle here for service and I surely will. Full review to follow.

I took in my '98 Lexus GS400 for some brake work and oil change. I'm a car guy so I know my way around a car. They got to my car promptly to diagnose and then gave me a call to let me know what they found. They were prompt, courteous, professional, honest, and someone who I will certainly use again for all my car needs. I would HIGHLY recommend ToyoTechs for all you who own a Toyota or Lexus.
Toyotechs is the one and only fair, honest, quality auto repair shop I have ever found. They have a great staff and top notch techs. I would recommend them to anyone.
I needed several items refurbished on my '96 Lexus ES300, which the shop took care of on as scheduled. However, a small oversight required that I return to the shop twice. Failure to properly set a switch caused my car to overheat and be towed back to the shop the first time. Another item needed replacing on a second visit, which was fixed at a very reasonable price.
Thank you KatzMan for the good rating! ToyoTechs is proud to have the lowest “comeback” rate in the industry- bar none! We would like everyone to know our techs take pride in the job they do and test drive every job. "Bob" our customer, called in the next day to tell us of his concern with his car running to hot. Joe realized the switch that turns on the fan when the car is hot enough was not turning on, as it ran hot while sitting in traffic. To avoid any potential problems he sent a tow truck right out after him, the car went right into the shop, the techs found the plug was not fully engaged. We quickly returned the car with no expense to him. The second item was total coincidence and we did no work in the area of the oxygen sensor. We did, however, have the whole front of the car apart as well as other major services done at that time, so we repaired it at cost. We are only human and tried to make it right for the customer.
