Transmission Magician Bait and Switch
Well on Tuesday, Feb. 28, I got a call from Transmission Magician around 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon, from a female, and she asked me if I was David Barr and I said yes. Then, she says, well John called you this morning, why didn't you answer or call back? (With the ""TONE IN HER VOICE""). I told her I just got home from the hospital where I had been all day, but she did put John on the phone and we re-scheduled for Thursday at 11am. I did, and he did his test and said he doesn't think it is in the tranny, and that made me smile. He then spent some time hunting for a certain socket, then was under the dash and I heard him tighten something, and, IT IS LIKE BRAND NEW! My point is, I still believe in Johns ability abd his work. His customer service by front office needs something.

Be Careful, may take advantage of you
Went here because my 5 speed was stuck in third gear. Next day they called me back saying it was my shifter cables, and cost around $550 to repair, I gave them a go ahead, got my car back a day or two later. A little pricey it seemed, but everything worked ok, until six months later when the cables broke again. I went back to them, got the part warrentied, but they refused to pay for the labor to install the part. In addition I got a chance to talk with the mechanic who replaced it, who said the only thing wrong with the cables was a plastic connetor which can be bought a dealership for next to nothing (rather than replacing the whole cable). A little upset I went elsewhere, got them replaced and the cables broke again on the way home from that shop. I called them up, and all they told me to do was get to car towed to their shop so they could look at the transmission, and also refused to get to part replaced. Not a very honest business practice, be careful if you take your car here. \r

Highly Recommended
Highly recommend this shop to anyone. Owner went well out of his way to fix our Suzuki. We have had this vehicle to numerous mechanics and even the Suzuki dealer. The dealer charged us $600 to fix a belt that wasn't the issue and then told us we needed a new transmission entirely. The transmission magician was not only able to diagnose the problem but he was also able to acquire the parts that we were told nobody could get. He got the parts and he went out of his way to find us used parts to keep things in our price range per our request. Very affordable & honest. Owner was also very accommodating to fit our work schedules by staying later than shop hours. I dont have a single complaint and will use this shop in the future.
