Troll Tavern

The food was WACK! I spent $100 on 5 burgers what a bunch of wacked out theives, didn't really care about the cost- but when the buns were ROCK HARD and they put 15% on my bill. I love Helen and will go back but the TROLL was a roll- Right next door is a mexican Restaurant that was "off the hook", and the service was awesome, but the TROLL was a JOKE!!!!!!! You got me once NEVER TWICE!!!!!!

We are still trying to figure out how come we have been charged $12 more than what we signed off for using our credit card. We have called and were told we were only charged the one amount that we signed off on, but my bank says that they charged the amount that was charged to our card, the extra $12. I know if we go back we will only pay cash there. Not happy with the extra money being taken. We did leave a nice tip for our server who was a truely nice young lady. The view was beautiful and the crab dip was one of the best we have ever had.

This place is truly disgusting. The fact that nearly ALL of the seating by thr river was empty, during Octoberfest, should have tipped us off immediately.

It was a little chilly, so we decided to sit indoors gross. The tables were covered with sticky tablecloths, there were piles of old food on the floor and the restrooms were abismal.

The service was SLOW. It took 15 mins or longer to receive our drinks. The server wasn't the least bit knowledgeable about the food. I received the "deer in the headlights look" when I asked if the chicken fingers were fresh or frozen. She had no idea. I just wanted to know if my $14 would be well spent I decided on another "troll specialty".

Now on to the food.. horrible!!!!! My daughter received 2 (frozen) chicken fingers and a bowl of soggy (canned) green beans. My chicken alfredo consisted of a pile of mushy, cold spaghetti noodles with maybe a ladel full of some tasteless white sauce and a few chunks of chicken. Totally inedible! This "specialty" was $16.99 and came with a small plate of bagged salad. I did consume the salad, but the nasty mess of spaghetti was sent back. The bill showed a $2 charge for the salad nice. No luck for anyone at our table. Horrible, overpriced frozen food....

What a waist of time and money. I am not real picky about service but this place goes down as the worst ever! It started when I server took off before we even got our food. (Left for the day). Then our food sat in the kitchen until I asked someone to check on it for us. Everything was cold and nasty as hell. The prices are jacked up. Chicken tenders for $14 bucks. The Wendy?s actually has better food and friendlier service. We had a table of nine and no one liked anything they received. I actually sent my food back and explained I did not care for anything else. The manager Veronica became very offensive. Instead of coming to the table and apologizing for our food being messed up she came out to argue with us. It actually took one hour just for us to get our tickets, pay and leave. The staff was trying to be helpful but with management like Veronica they are all screwed. Rude, Rude, Rude! Veronica brought out a very lucky side of all of us when all she had to do was remove the meal from my check. She wanted to make me eat something that was not worth eating and that I certainly was not going to pay for. Forget about any recourse because the owners are not contactable. Veronica is the rabid pit -ull that will be the reason why this place will close down. I guess they figure the Helen, Ga. Is a tourist trap and they will never hear or see from you again so they can do whatever they like. Horrible place!

My friends and I went tubing in Helen and then stopped in at the Troll Tavern for dinner. It was a fun place to go, and it's right on the river. The servers were friendly and the burgers were great.
