I used TruGreen/Chemlawn for three years to provide monthly service to my centipede lawn. The first year they did a fine job, but their work and diminished after 2006. The technician, on several occasions, was stopped by ME prior to application of LIME. You don't put LIME on centipede. The fertilizer was overdone to the point that the grass died in a large patch right at the street. Customer Service was contacted about this, and responded immediately with several patches of centipede turf - but the soil itself was tainted badly. It took three years for the damage to naturally recover. They planned aeration treatments at the wrong time of year for centipede. BE WARNED - if you have centipede or any other "peculiar" turf/sod - be very sure that your technician is monitored and is knowledgeable enough to service your lawn. You could (as I did) wind up re-sodding after complete destruction by well intended but undertrained technicians. I terminated the contract in 2009.

I ended up a Trugreen customer when they bought out Leisure Lawn. After 3 years with Leisure Lawn my yard was beautiful, practically weed free with only a few small heat stressed spots. In comes Trugreen and the only things green in my yard are the weeds. Amazing!!! My lawn actually look worse than it did before I started having it treated. I called several times back in May to request service. No one came and no one called me back. But when I call to cancel the representative asks if having a service manager come out would help and what could they do to keep my business. Too late. A company should care before customers are ready to leave.

Their mailer and website said I would get a personal 14 point analysis of my lawn. When I called they tried to sell me over the phone without even looking at the lawn. I told them I wanted someone to look at the lawn but they just kept pushing me to buy service. They said they had records on my property and could see it on satellite photos but the house was just completed and even google doesn't have anything on it. They were dishonest and wouldn't honor their own promises. Do not use this company. I called a local guy who came out and gave me an even better price than Trugreen

I used chemLawn for about two years. After that time, my lawn had more weeds than when I started. When I called them out to look at it, they suggested that I kill all of the grass and start over. Yeah right... The lawn looked great before they started.

We bought a package that included pretreating and weed control. We had brand new sod which should be carefully chemicalled and definately not aerated within the first year. Without our previous approval, they aerated our front yard and charged us $100 for the unwanted service. We are currently fighting the charge.

This is our second and maybe last lawn service provider. We have noticed our lawn considerably improve (green and weed-free) after signing up with them. The rates are very reasonable too.

I've used ChemLawn on two of my yards and couldn't be happier with them. The rates are reasonable and they do a terrific job. Your yard is assigned to one person, so he gets to know it quite well. Highly recommended.
