I set out to find a small unit to house my things for an indefinite period of time. Many years earlier I had been a customer with U-Store It in Snellville and so I naturally decided to go back there. I met the manager Michelle Raum and informed her of my needs. After she gave me prices and their availability, I was surprised at how expensive they were, but I decided to move forward because my past experience was positive. On my way home, I stopped by another facility to find their units were indoors, same size, less expensive and closer to my home. They also informed me the insurance would be waived if I already had homeowner's insurance which I did.Well, I called U-Store It and decided to cancel my unit the same day and I never moved in. I also requested a full refund. Michelle stated to me that she would have to talk her district manager about issuing a refund. I found that to be strange, but I accepted it and expected to get my money back in a day or two. A week later after not hearing from Michelle or anyone from U-Store It, I went back to their location and requested my refund. Michelle stated to me that her district manager said the administration fees and the insurance I paid were non refundable with no other explanation. Avoid these people as there are less expensive and more secure facilities to choose from. I also work for myself and I've learned that honesty is the best policy in business, its not worth losing referrals over.
