There are a lot of thing I like about the EMT program at Unitek. The learning experience in the field was very good and taught in a concise, dynamic, and kinesthetic approach- which I really... liked. However the head instructor of the program was derogatory in every sense of the word. Foul mouth and bigoted- every other word out of his mouth was filthy; littered with chauvinism and cultural insensitivity. I found it difficult to knuckle down for the two week program & hide my disdain for his text book narcissistic & cavalier persona. After documenting his inappropriate behaviors and lodging a complaint, I felt little was done to correct a major discriminatory & harassing situation. I indicated that I was fearful of retaliation for coming forward and consistently experienced and contended with his passive aggressive attitude for the duration of the EMT program. It was so upsetting, I was brought to tears outside of class numerous times. More over, some of the co instructors & program volunteers were absolutely cut from the same cloth as he was. At times I felt really scared, as if I needed to watch my back, especially when this former special forces lunatic would take out his knife and prostrate with it in a hostile fashion. If you are anyone besides a hetro-normitive, young, caucasian male beware! If you stand against a filthy mouth good old boy system beware. If you want to pay nearly 5k to mop floors out of militarism dogmatic nonsense beware. Thank God it only was for two weeks! That being said, I feel like this program has the potential to be the best EMT school in the nation, however, it definitely needs to undergo serious and substantial changes.

Kudos to my teacher!, 6/27/2011

It was a great decision to choose Unitek College for the lvn to rn course. The class schedule worked out very well with my work. The administration was really supportive throughout my stay. The... course covers a lot of material and memorization and I was most impressed with my teacher. She did really well guiding our group, keeping the class moving and making sure we were all on the same page right along to the end making sure every last one of us passed.

Best Decision Ever!

Unitek College helped build a strong foundation for my nursing career. The Vocational Nursing program was the best decision I have ever made. The facilities are great, the instructors were helpful and their tuition fee was reasonable. In my opinion, they have the best nursing training program in the Fremont area today.
