VCA Peachtree Animal Hospital is a veterinary facility in Chamblee, GA where your pet's health is our top priority and excellent service is our goal.
Dr. Boyd provided excellent care to our 16 year old poodle and comforted us in our decision to euthanize this December. Dr. Boyd was so wonderful, and sent a beautiful note which was very reassuring. The staff were equally considerate and helpful while we waited that day. I highly recommend Dr. Boyd.

I started here on the recommendation of a good friend, (who has since started seeing another vet after the sale to VCA.) Every time I go, it's a different vet, they seem to have a big turnover, which says a lot. After frustrating weeks of expensive, invasive tests and recommendations for more tests and yet another biopsy because "they have never seen anything like this" and the test results were "inconclusive", I finally went to another vet for a second opinion. He took one look at my dog and told me what it was. I hate to think that the vets at Peachtree were deliberately ripping me off, but it's that conclusion or that they're completely incompetent. Prices are high, borderline outrageous, for drugs. Peachtree charged me around $35 for a week of Rimidyl, the new vet charged me $42 for a month's worth... I do have to say that the vet techs here are awesome, much better than the vets. They love-up my dogs and are gentle and sweet. Wish I could take them all to my new vets.

I am not talking about the animals. Ever since VCA (corporate owned)bought practice, PAH has lost its "warm and fuzzy". I checked with my friends who work at other clinics and they have heard the same thing. There not bad. I am sure that they are fine. I like a Vet's office that is as good with the parents as they are with the pets.

Hello, We have been taking our lab to Peachtree Animal Hospital for about two years now. Overall, they are extremely overpriced, and never seem to be too concerned when she has an issue. They like you to come back day after day to get the $56 appointment fee out of you, rather than just fix it the first time you are there - all while my dog is suffering. Looking for another vet as we speak!

Recently this practice has been affiliated with VCA as a VCA hospital. I have noticed a dramatic increase in the prices of everything. I hate this because it almost feels like the emphasis has changed from veterinarian care to profits. The staff has also increased to 5 doctors.

Dr.Bateman is in this business to fatten his bank account. Dr.Bateman and their crew are trained to get the maximum amount of money out of you while they care for your pet. I have 3 dogs and their annual shots would end up costing me at least $445 each time. They somehow would dispense medication that would be several times more expensive. After changing our vet to the WellPet humane around the corner, I learned that my dogs did not need certain shots every year but would be fine with 3 yr booster shots. Their annuals went down to $120 from $450.The eye and heart medicine they were dispeensing had alternatives that were as good but cost a fraction of what Peachtree animal was charging. I could not stand the crowd behind the customer service counter as well. They seemed like they were qualified to work there based on their race and country heritage not based on their talent or concern for animals. Overall I am glad I pulled my animals from these people who had no concern for them. If I were you, I would definitely stay away from Dr.Bateman and Peachtree Animal Hospital.

I can't stand Dr. Bateman. He doesn't explain things well, and he's not very personable. However, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Unger under this practice. She takes the time to understand the problem and figure out the best treatment immediately. She has called us to check how the dog is doing while being treated. It's evident that she truly loves animals. My dog looks forward to seeing her. If it weren't for Dr. Unger, I would definitely have changed practices altogether.

Dr. Ford was the one who was there when I had my dog of 13 years put down. She along with the rest of the staff was wonderful in comforting me. I also recently took my new cat to see Dr. Unger. I recieved better attention and care from her than I get at most human doctors. She made sure I left with all of my questions answered. This is also a very clean and sterile envrionment. I wish there were more places that have the same customer care as Peachtree!!!!

I brought my cat to Peachtree Animal Hospital for a checkup. She saw Dr. Bateman. Dr Bateman was nice enough and his staff handled my cat very well. However, the issues started after we left the hospital. Dr Bateman ordered a blood test for my cat as she had been vomiting more than normal. My appointment was Tuesday, and he told me to "call them on Thursday" so he could discuss the results. I thought he just messed up the order and really meant that his office would call me on Thursday. Thursday came and went, no call. 2 weeks passed, no call, no letter, no communication. I finally called the office myself, and got reception, and told her that nobody had gotten in touch with me about my cat's blood test. She assured me that Dr. Bateman himself would call me. He never did. Its been over a month, and I still never received one iota of communication back from them. I will never bring any pet of mine here again.

I initially trusted Dr. Bateman until I consulted a vet from out-of-state during the time he was treating my sick pet. When she was gravely ill, he ordered outdated and unnecessary tests, and recommended exploratory surgery which would have killed her. He also let her actual illness go untreated for a very long time so that he could make her into a "cash cow". As a result, she almost died. In my opinion, he is unethical and focused on earning money. I don't think he is incompetent. He knows what he's doing. He cares about his bank account more than he does about your animal. Petowners beware!

I have been taking my animals to Peachtree Animal Hospital for the past 16 years. Dr. Needham Bateman is the past president of the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. He is a truly caring individual and is simply the best with both check ups as well as trauma care. In addition, Dr. Ford and Dr. McManus are fabulous vets in their own right. I have seen all three of these vets over the years and I trust them with my pet's care. If your pet needs surgery, these are the vets that you want! The staff at Peachtree Animal Hospital are wonderful as well. I feel like family whenever I am there. They come around the desk and love on our dogs. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

I like Dr. Ford a lot! She's sharp and super nice. It can be tough to get a call back from the receptionists and I feel the follow through is lacking on certain services (Ex. paying for microchipping that still isn't activated a month later). However, it is super conveniently located for me and the hours are really good. As long as Dr. Ford is there, I'll keep going.

I have used Dr. Bateman for over 20 years. I drive about 12-15 miles because it is the best place I have found. He runs the best veterinary clinic around. Clean, updated/remodeled over the last few years, friendly staff, friendly caring doctors-- Dr. Bateman always takes the time to answer questions you may have about your pets condition. I have used the other doctors once each and they seem caring as well. This is the best clinic for your beloved pet to receive traditional medical care.

Overall, my experiences with Peachtree Animal Hospital have been good. I have only been here a few times and they have taken care of my dog very well. However, this vet is a little pricier than others I have been to, but I feel better about taking my dog here than anywhere else. I usually don't have to wait too long to see the Dr., but my last visit I had to wait 30 minutes (maybe because it was a busy Monday morning). I will definitely keep taking my dog to this vet.
