I had to take my fur babies here because my usual vet was closed (Dr. Rivera). We walked in everything was great, until we got their nails trimmed and the receptionist cut them in the lobby. So unprofessional and disgusting may I add. Then they both of their deworming immunization were due and they didn't even weigh them or ask how old they were so at that point I was done and walked out. Never again, not even for an emergency.Someone keeps deleting and hiding my reviews on Yelp. Someone even flagged my 5 star positive review that I posted for Dr. Rivers. Their Yelp score can't be trusted. BEWARE!!!

WARNING!!! I took my dog to this so called emergency vet clinic. We were treated extremely bad. The clinic advertises itself as an emergency clinic. My poor dog was extremely sick. I took my poor dog to this place believing it was a 24 hr emergency clinic. They kept him for two days. While he was being "treated by the clinic" they provided no real medical help, were not able to properly communicate with us, or provide proper treatment to save my dogs life. I asked the doctor if I could take him home so he could pass away at home with his family. The doctor recommended that he stay, and he later died alone. My dog suffered inhumanely at their hands -- for two days! I would not recommend anyone who loves their pet to take them here. Please beware! Ron, the owner flags all bad reviews on Yelp. My review and others that are negative have been hidden so that it does not affect Vet Playas' Yelp Score, in an effort to lie to the public. IT SHOULD BE A CRIME, FOR ANYONE TO POST FAKE POSITIVE 5 STAR REVIEWS ON YELP, FOR ANY VETERINARY CLINIC, DENTIST, OR DOCTOR.

Vet Playas' Yelp Score is a lie. Beware of incompetent and dishonest Vet Playas. An American, named Ronald Richards, the owner of Vet Playas, has admitted in writing to a customer who's dog inhumanely suffered and died after being treated at Vet Playas, that he is flagging all negative Yelp reviews about Vet Playas. Richards admits in writing that Vets are afraid to go to Vet Playas at night for fear of being robbed and or kidnapped, yet his website (which is filled with numerous false statements) states "it's safe." It is unfortunate that anyone would take advantage of companion animals and those who love them -- during an emergency.

Ronald Richards, are all these 5 star Yelp reviews FAKE and coming from Vet Playas? Richards, do you spend your entire day and night flagging negative comments, and ordering your staff to do the same? How much do you pay Yelp to delete these accurate negative reviews? A dog died after being treated by Dr. Fimbres. This place gets less than ZERO STARS! Ronald Richards have some ethics & integrity -- immediately remove all of the false statements on the various Vet Playas websites. I am so glad that Google, Kudzu and the Rip Off Report are not hiding/and or deleting any of the accurate negative reviews about Vet Playas. YELP gets a failing grade -- for hiding all of the accurate negative reviews about Vet Playas. Now I know Yelp's 5 star score cannot be trusted. Have some high standards and integrity Yelp, if you want people to take your site seriously. You really have lost all of your credibility.

If I could give this place less than zero stars -- I would. First, I have not heard any good things about this place. Several people, including 3 competent and experienced Veterinarians have had nothing but bad things to say about Vet Playas. Several statements on Vet Playas' various websites are false and misleading. If you love your animal and you want it to have the best care, do not take your fur baby to Vet Playas. If their website is filled with false statements then they cannot be trusted to be honest. Once your pet is in Tijuana, there are no reliable after hours emergency Vet Hospitals, and the chances of you being able to cross your pet back into the U.S. when ill, is quite risky, and you may be denied by US Customs. Then you are stuck with nowhere to go to save your pet's life. If you are concerned about money, use Trupanion or Pet's Best insurance. If you don't have insurance and you have an emergency, try Care Credit: carecredit.com/vetmed

In my opinion, this is the worst emergency Vet Clinic and dog boarding place I've ever been to, Vet Playas is SHADY, and they are not a qualified ER Vet Clinic. The owner, an American, Ronald Richards, shows up during an emergency, takes your money and then closes the clinic. There's no waiting room for you to stay to wait to see how your pet is doing because Ron closes the doors after he gets your money. Vet Playas places their sick dogs in kennels right next to dogs that are being boarded for vacation. Why place an ill dog next to a perfectly healthy dog? Dogs that are entrusted to Vet Playas' care are walked on the sidewalk of a filthy busy street to go to the bathroom. Severely ill dogs have to either walk up a staircase or be carried to the second floor. Their kennels are too small for extra large dogs. Try Helen Animal Woodward Center for boarding instead, they have an excellent dog boarding facility with a fenced in large grassy area for playtime. And Helen Animal Woodward's boarding area for each dog is very large. Ronald Richards the owner of Vet Playas even posted a 5 star review about his own clinic on Yelp - REAL DESPERATE AND PATHETIC! He also posted a response on Yahoo! questions, promoting Vet Playas, and he never once stated he was the owner of Vet Playas. How very sad that an American, like Ronald Richards, is trying to take advantage of people and their pets when they are sick, by engaging in false advertisement, fraud and deceptive practices.

Ronald Richards, the owner of Vet Playas, claims he only speaks English, and Dr. Fimbres claims he only speaks Spanish, yet their website shows a photo, where it states English is spoken. Ron works out of his home. Dr. Fimbres does not speak English, and Vet Playas does not have a translator, which makes this statement misleading. You don't want to be stuck with a language barrier during an emergency with your pet. Ron Richards brags about his clinic being better than all of the other clinics in Tijuana, Mexico because he's an American who looks down on Mexicans and tries to sell his clinic as superior, when in my opinion, it's inferior to the excellent clinics in Tijuana, and when Ron thinks no one can hear him, he calls his staff "a bunch of idiots" behind their backs. Tijuana has a few excellent competent Mexican Veterinarians with state of the art Vet Clinics, Vet Playas isn't one of them. However, Tijuana does NOT HAVE ANY RELIABLE AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY VET CLINICS. And U.S. Customs forbids an animal who is not healthy to enter the U.S. from Mexico, so you will have no options in attempting to save your pets life once in Mexico. We go to Veterinarians and their Clinics to save our pet's life, and to get them the best care possible. We love our pets, and we want to protect them from harm. Vet Playas cannot be trusted to care for your pet.

Shame on you Vet Playas! There is nothing worse than an American, Ronald Richards, doing business in Mexico, trying to lure and take advantage of Americans with sick pets, by conning them into thinking that he actually owns and operates a competent state of the art ER Vet Clinic. This couldn't be further from the truth. When your fur baby has an emergency, your pet needs their blood to be drawn immediately. If you take your pet to Vet Playas, after they close for regular hours, they (unlike what their website states) cannot draw and test your pet's blood immediately. Vet Playas not only waits until the next day to draw the blood of your pet, during an emergency, they also DO NOT HAVE AN IN-HOUSE LABORATORY, unlike what their website FALSELY STATES. I ASK YOU VET PLAYAS TO IMMEDIATELY REMOVE ALL OF YOUR FALSE STATEMENTS FROM YOUR VARIOUS WEBSITES, AND INFORM ALL WHO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT OF THIS FACT, PRIOR TO THEM MAKING THE CRUEL MISTAKE OF TAKING THEIR PET TO YOUR SUPPOSED "ER VET CLINIC."

I am writing this review to warn anyone who loves their pet to stay away from Vet Playas. Mr. Ronald Richards and his incompetent staff cannot be trusted. Mr. Richards is very nice and dishonest when trying to lure you in. However, once your pet is at Vet Playas, your pet will not receive "THE BEST CARE" as their website falsely claims. Their Ultrasound machine was not working. Their xray machine failed to take clear enough images to detect what the actual problem was. They were not even able to find anyone to do this for them, as all competent ER Vet Clinics would have. This so called emergency Vet clinic is antiquated and incapable of providing quality, professional and reliable, critical care. Vet Playas is not properly set up for emergencies. Vet Playas could not even have the imaging and results available to be taken to another Vet during an emergency, due to their ineptitude. They have poor customer service. A rude self centered staff when things go wrong, due to their negligence and dishonesty.

Hello this is my first reveiw here at Kudzu. I went to Vet Playas Veterinary Clinic last week. It was only about 10 min from the border. My veterinary clinic in San Diego referred me to them. My dog was hit by a car and broke his leg, the surgery was over $2,000. I could not afford that so they told me about Vet Playas. They used the X Rays I had from my Vet and preformed the surgery. The total cost with my dog staying there was less than $600.00. It was a God send for me as $2000.00 was out of my reach. I was very happy with the service, they spoke english and they really seemed to care about my dog. I will bring my other dogs there in the future. Thanks, Patty
