These vets are fabulous. Dr. Becca Gaston is awesome. She has taken care of my two dachshunds for years. I wouldn't go anyplace else. I trust them explicitly and recommend them highly and without reservation.

Other review on yelp! "Look no further, you will not find a better facility! I currently reside in Buckhead and when my cat needed immediate surgery Dr. Tigyi and his crew where the only clinic within a 25 mile radius that was able or willing to take him. The whole staff is caring and attentive to not only the animals needs but the owners as well! Their main goal is the health of the animals that walk through their door and not about the money. These people are saints and I am forever grateful to them for keeping my big boy alive!"

First of all take note: Read the reviews; with all the negative reviews written, how do they still get a 4 Star Rating??? Not only is the staff curt, you have a long wait to then be ushered into a filthy exam room for what then is an even longer wait. No matter what ailment your pet has, the "doctor(s)" will make certain the first trip/treatment does not work and you have to come back and pay hundreds more for them to prescribe what they really think (guess) might work to resolve the problem. After being overcharged entirely too many times, I checked around and found the tests/shots/medication they were charging almost $300 for at Veterinary Medical Center, at a friendly, efficient, spotless (no offense to Dalmatians) Veterinary Clinic not far away for $113. The choice is obvious-

The owner of the 12 year old Basset is upset after losing his dog. I do understand that completely as I would be upset after losing my dog. I do want to clarify a few things in his report to ensure accuracy as many reviews are written during times of anger and intense emotion. This owner's dog did wake up from her dental. In fact I repeated a physical before I left for the day. The dog was brought back the next day for vomiting. My next response is to the bloodwork that the owner said I should have run. We had current bloodwork from August. This is sufficient according to our standards as well as all other clinics. I spoke with the doctor at Georgia Veterinary Specialists and asked if she thought there were any flaws in how the case was managed and if she saw any gross negligence and she did not think so. I respect the owner's opinion if he does not like our standards. I think he was wrong in claiming a lack of attention to detail on the case. He didn't mention in his review that I found mast cell tumors (malignant tumor) and removed them to make sure that they didn't spread to her other organs. At this point it was no longer a routine dental. Mast cell tumors are the most invasive of skin tumor removals. So attention to detail was not a problem here. In most cases, the doctor cannot fully control the outcome. This patient's death was nobody's fault. Do your homework but take everything people say with a grain of salt.

My dog went in for a teeth cleaning and never woke up. They accepted 4 month old blood results as sufficient, prior to doing the surgery. The blood work should have been rerun; if it had been, I wouldn't be writing this review because my 12 year old best friend would still be with me. The son of the vet whom started this place seems nice; they all seem "nice". However, I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone who really cares for their dog and I would NEVER have imagined the gross negligence that could have occurred that resulted in my best friends passing. I think they should TIGHTEN up their standards, or simply close shop and not put other loving dog owners and their pets in jeopardy. If the vet or staff is reading this, I hope you realize that your lack of attention to detail and lack of disclosure took my dog away; nothing else, only your actions. This photo was taken the day of her "routine dental visit"; this is the last picture I have of my best friend. For other pet owners out there, reading this; please, PLEASE......do your homework, research what others have said about this place, and then make an informed decision about whom your entrust to care for your pets life. God Bless.

Terrence does a really good job grooming my yorkie. The medical care is really good. They are alittle expensive but the doctors do a really good job and there has never been a time when I need them and they're not open.

I really like everyone here. They treat me really well. I've been coming since 1996. I have always received satisfactory service. I've always appreciated their quality of medical care. Dr. Warner and Dr. Gaston have always been kind and treated my pets so well.

I took my dog in becuase he wasn't feeling well. I saw Dr. Becca. I have never in my life dealt with someone as unprofessional and ditzy. she sounded like a "dumb blonde" like u know... ur dog could have this, like u know or it could be this, like u know... are u serious ??? needless to say after $400 i was given an answer of " I don't really know whats wrong with your dog but here are some anti-biotics". how in the world does she still have a job?? she must be related to the owner, oh wait, she is.

With the addition of Dr. Gaston's family doctors we now have the joy of knowing the Gaston family tradition continues. Dr. Ryan and Becca Gaston saved our goldendoodle after he swallowed a sock. Thank you VMC!

I took my dog to get nails done 2/9/2013 (Saturday), it has been over 2 months since I did his nails, so i thought i will take him to a professional. I took my dog to Vetinerary Medical Center on Nesbit Ferry Road, because I heard it it a good place. It was my first time there. But it turned out to be a very bad experience. I was in one of waiting rooms, two nurses came in. One nurse and I held my dog and the second nurse started to clip the nails on front left paw , she over clipped a nail by a big margin and the front paw started bleeding badly and the dog was in severe pain. Nurse did not attend the bleeding, which she should have. My dog trusted me and let the lady do both the hind legs. My dog even though was in sever pain and panic did not mind the nurse do the hind legs. Then she moved to do the front right paw. All the time my dog said nothing and both nurses cuddled him saying he was a good dog. When clipping the front paw, she got close to one nail, and by then my dog could not take it anymore and warned the nurse seriously and growled at her...at this point the this nurse goes hay-wire and panicked and I had to tell her to leave the room so that I can work with my dog. It was terrible. The nurses should have known how to handle a troubled dog. Stop clipping and apply medicine to stop bleeding. I understand that the nails are black and its hard to see the wick but way they have been clipped is unacceptable. Treatment my dog received while bleeding was horrible

I brought my perfectly healthy dog in for teeth cleaning ($650). He could barely walk when I picked him up. Later that day I discovered he was virtually deaf. When I took him back in they told me his ears were badly infected, then charged me more for medication for his ears. I will never take an animal there again

I have a senior dog who has been having serious heart problems for a week. It has been a struggle trying to figure out how to help him and I took him to this vet for the first time since we were new to the area. I was absolutely impressed with the way the staff helped me and my dog. They helped me make an appointment the same day with very few problems. My dog wasn't up to date with his shots and they made sure his health was top priority and dealt with organizing his shot list after getting him help. I was able to schedule an appointment an hour after calling in and the vet was able to meet with me immediately. She gave him chest x rays and was able to diagnose him immediately. He was given medications and he has never been happier. No more breathing problems and playing around like a true champ! He's due for another appointment and there's no one else I'd rather take him to. Thank you VCM

I have been taking my two cats to Veterinary Medical Center since I took ownership of them from my parents when they moved away a little over a year ago. So this has been my first personal veterinary experience. I have been amazed at how excellent they are. They have extremely flexible hours and can fit you in usually, even on short notice or in an emergency. I probably worry too much about my cats, but they are always there to help me. The entire staff is incredibly friendly and you get the feeling that they really do care about your animals. I've had a few worrying emergencies and they were able to see me immediately and ease my mind. I always feel comfortable leaving a cat there for further medical examination. Sometimes the bill can seem a little pricey, but if you love and care about your animal's well-being—it is more than worth it.

Vet Med Center has been our vets for 5+ years. The vets are well educated and easy going, the reception staff is fantastic, grooming is well priced, and the services prices are comparable with the area. They saw us through the onset of renal disease all the way to the end-of-life decision with honesty and caring. They always offer either my vet of choice or scheduling at my convenience. They also offer drop-off service as well as doggy day care when the need arises.
