17 years of great service and caring folks
I was shocked and amazed at some of the negative comments people have written. My family has been taking our beloved pets here for 17 years now, and I wouldn't change a thing. I have always found the staff here to be caring and compassionate and the prices to be reasonable. One of the Vet Techs, Chris, knows my husband and I and our pets on sight and by name, and while I don't know how he keeps track, always asks us about something we may have mentioned in passing at the last visit. When we had to put my cat BooBoo down, they were incredibly caring through the process. I had come home to find her sick right before closing time at the vet and they directed me to a good ER care in Sandy Springs, and after several months of on-going care, I got a call right away from Chris when he found out we had had to put her to sleep over the weekend. I would not trust my "kids" with anyone else.

The Doctors and Chris are great
I am new to the Dunwoody area and needed to take my geriatric poodle in for a checkup. One of my neighbors suggested I go to Village Animal Clinic. I must say, I was very pleased. The entire office staff was very kind and caring. My doctor was Dr. Winter and she was wonderful and took her time with me after the examination to go over the medications that my pet had been on for years. Turns out that new results showed that two of the meds were counter-reacting each other. Thanks for taking the extra time with me and my Sophie. You are wonderful people.

Think twice!!!
My family went to Village Animal for at least 10 years owning numerous Maltese, a Samoyed, Lab/Retriever mixes- quite a variety of dog breeds. Check-ups and teeth cleanings always went well. Apparently this was the best care a dog was capable of getting at this clinic because out of 7 of our current dogs, the youngest(just a 3 yr old Maltese pup) died under the care of this vet. This was the only vet this puppy ever saw in it's lifetime; the vet that spayed her and gave her shots etc. The puppy's intestines were blocked (i.e. a hernia, which could have been a result of her being carelessly spayed at this clinic less than a year before her death). If it was in result of something besides spaying complications- the vet should have seen the complications while spaying the dog because the blockage was directly next to the spaying insertion. Basically, there was no good reason why this puppy should have died as early as she did. This vet watched this puppy suffer- throwing up, in a whining pain for two days (after x-rays) ending in a hemorrhaging death in "emergency" surgery **two days after the pup was brought in for x-rays and symptoms related to a complete blockage in her system**. This was an awful, tragic death and I was very surprised and disgusted that it occurred at such a clinic. Needless to say, they fooled me. I would not wait until your pet has a life-threatening problem to realize that this vet is not equipped to care for your pet completely and carefully.

Very Good Vet
The people here are so caring - we put down our old dog with the Village Animal Clinic and they were kind enough to give him some heavy painkillers (which he needed) and gave us time to say goodbye before they did the procedure very humanely.

They are usually fast in seeing our dogs during walk-ins for vaccinations. They spayed my dog and she came out great - although we did have to push back when they wanted to keep her overnight and we didn't think it was necessary.

The only thing I don't care for with them is that they don't have very much specialized knowledge - we had to seek further care for a dog with thyroid problems because the vet didn't know enough about thyroid problems to make anything other than a very general diagnosis.

Otherwise, a great vet for people with the average dog care needs.

best Vet in Dunwoody
We've been taking our golden here for 6.5 years and I just can't say enough about this group. From the vets to the techs they all do an outstanding job taking care or dog at reasonable prices. I wouldn't go anyplace else.
