Ahh, the Vortex. If Drew & I end up needing an actual double coronary bypass someday because of their food, it may just be worth it! Obviously, we love the Double Bypass Burger. It's a half-pound burger topped with two fried eggs, six slices of American cheese, and eight slices of bacon, all served between the two grilled cheese sandwiches that they use instead of regular hamburger buns. Ridiculous, yes, but also delicious. Oh yeah, the Cheesy Cheddar Balls & fried pickle spears are awesome as well! Helpful Hint: you have to be 18 to go here due to the fact that it's a bar & allows smoking.

Vortex is far from McDonald's. The vibe is trendy and edgy. The burgers are great and way better than the plain, standard burger that you may be used to. I can personally recommend the Yokahamama , Cajun, or Black and Blue burgers. They are delicious and very filling. The servers are friendly and cool too.

I think I actually like the interior on this location better than the one on Moreland, because it's more spacious. If you wanted to have a party of more than 6 it would be difficult for everyone to sit comfortably inside at the Moreland location, but at the Midtown location there are plenty of different size tables. But the food is just as good.

The Vortex has many types of burgers to choose from; try the bison. I'm glad that it isn't family friendly. I hate going to a restaurant and having to listen to screaming kids or having kids run around because their parents are not paying any attention.

The Vortex has great burgers! They also have a fried egg sandwich which you don't find often. Don't bring the kids though... it's 18 and over (to allow smoking). But hey, leave the kids at home, get a great burger, and watch the Dames-a-Flame show!

These burgers are enormous and good. The service could use some improving and the lunch crowd is fierce so arrive early. The fish and chips were also really good and their was a large assortment of beers.
