If you're looking for a casual dining experience with excellent beer selection, good portions, pretty good service and eclectic mix of people then Vortex is for you. Be forewarned however not to go... during typical lunch and dinner hours as the wait can be a bit of a headache. They have a fantastic beer selection with an avg price for bottled beer about $4 and draft about $6. Their appetizers are fried to pefection and will run about $7 depending on what you get. The real star of the menu has to be their burgers. They have a fantastic combination of toppings on their burgers from extreme creativity (Elvis burger: fried bananas, Peanut Butter) to extreme gluttony (Double Coronary: fried egg and buns replaced with grilled cheese sandwiches) but every burger they serve is delicious and priced just right around $8.50 depending on what you order. On my recent venture to vortex I had their Cuban sandwich and I must say being raised in Mia, this comes close to what you're gonna get down there. So if you're looking for a casual dining experience come early or late to miss the crowds and be sure to bring an appetite and an open mind.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Do not pass this place up due to the plethora of bikes in the parking lot, this place has one of the best burgers in town and everyone there seems to have a great time....excellent beer selection.
Come on, if you're going to a place like the Vortex, then go to the Little 5 location. The burgers and tots are great, but the Frisco Monti Cristo is good enough to kill a man for.
My boyfriend and I ate there (my first time) yesterday and it was a pretty good experience. The food was GREAT. The meat was huge and they weren't stingy with the tater tots. =) Our server was nice and the place was very fun.
We went here the day we arrived from Cali, the server was what seemed to be probably high, she didn't do much of anything but come up to us and ask us what we wanted to eat, then short time later the food came out and yes it was good, but the experience was quite under par for sub human standards. After the whole meal and everthing else was done a 3rd different person came and dropped off our check, at this point we did not know who to tip seeing the bar tender brought us our food, the waitress who supposedly waited on us was no where to be found and the 3rd person looked like somone who was a customer that brought us our bill. Well we left a sub service tip and next thing we knew the origional girl comes flying out the door and asks what the F-- we told her e she got paid for her service and she would have gotten more but we never saw her after the origional order taking.. So Good food bad service, I can find alot of other places to go I am sure that will be more pleasent. Marcus Andrews
two words: Yokohama Mama Burger w/ a fried egg on top. Well 9 words. The juices run down my hands and make me so happy! Love this place and the environment and the people. i feel like I belong.
Great Place, Friendly Staff... You Guys Rock!!!
I recently had a wonder meal at Vortex but was sad to hear that the manager will not be putting the santa hat on the skull outside. BAH HUM BUG! I can't support a establishment like that... the Consumer
Often regarded as the best burger in town and this is hard to argue with. The eclectic environment of little Five Points, makes this a memorable place to eat. Try the midtown location as well.
It's hard to say who actually has the best burger in town but the Vortex is very high on nthe list! Definately worth trying.
This is more like a cool place to eat with a somewhat eccentric atmostphere but the burgers are really good and the prices are very good. Go there for lunch !
Vortex has some of the best burgers in town. A must try if you are a burger fan! Service is always great and friendly. Food comes out hot and fast just as it should.
Its in a great place and has a cool skull over the door. The parking-lot attendents will try to make you pay to park....that stinks because theres plenty of spaces to park yourself
Vortex is one of the most unique experiences in Atlanta. It begins by walking into the mouth of an enormous, stylized skull. Vortex's offbeat personality is evident in the eclectic decor and no-nonsense menu. Beyond the ambience, Vortex offers one of the best burgers in Atlanta! Some selections are unexpectedly health-conscious - Try the buffalo burger! The outdoor seating is great for people-watching, where people are especially interesting to watch in Little Five Points.
