If you're looking for a casual dining experience with excellent beer selection, good portions, pretty good service and eclectic mix of people then Vortex is for you. Be forewarned however not to go... during typical lunch and dinner hours as the wait can be a bit of a headache. They have a fantastic beer selection with an avg price for bottled beer about $4 and draft about $6. Their appetizers are fried to pefection and will run about $7 depending on what you get. The real star of the menu has to be their burgers. They have a fantastic combination of toppings on their burgers from extreme creativity (Elvis burger: fried bananas, Peanut Butter) to extreme gluttony (Double Coronary: fried egg and buns replaced with grilled cheese sandwiches) but every burger they serve is delicious and priced just right around $8.50 depending on what you order. On my recent venture to vortex I had their Cuban sandwich and I must say being raised in Mia, this comes close to what you're gonna get down there. So if you're looking for a casual dining experience come early or late to miss the crowds and be sure to bring an appetite and an open mind.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

The burgers at the Vortex are out of this world, and the tots are quite tasty, too. They have stuff for non carnivores, too. Its one of the restaurants my vegetarian friend and I both love to go to.
so you can be a L5P regular, or a Va Hi neighbor and fit into this cool place. My kids love the entrance with its hugh skull, and the memorobilia is interesting to look at as well. Food is great. THey have one of the best burgers in Atlanta that you will find.
Tons of variety here. Any kind of burger with tons of toppings and a great selection of beer!! Can get noisy and busy at times.
The no-nonsense attitude apparent on the menus, the eclectic and adult decor, and the wild variety of burger options makes the Vortex the first stop for anyone out of town (if, of course, you're over 18). Oh, and by the way, skip the fries--get the tater tots.
Everyone will tell you if you go to Vortex to get a burger... get the fried zucchini! It's awesome.
