No way, no how. Not recommended.
I took a '67 Ford 289 in for a rebuild. I suspected a worn-out block and asked them to check the cylinders before beginning ANY work. Sure, we'll call you.
After a week of silence, I call and inquire - yeah, the block looks great! No worries, they say. Oh, and they did $900 of work on the cylinder heads already. Then they call two days later to tell me my block was worn out. I was flabbergasted! I picked up my parts and found a new short block to use somewhere else. Nobody seemed too concerned that they did work I had not authorized.
Fast-forward 1000 miles on the car, and the rocker arm studs are pulling out of the heads they "rebuilt". They screwed up the rebuild job, and the work they did perform was crap. Now I'm looking for a good shop to fix my heads right.
This was a great shop under Mickey's tenure, but avoid them like the plague now.
