Ward Construction was recommended to me and I really should have read the reviews first. It started out fine at first, Harvey came by to do a walk through with me and wrote down all the work I wanted. I am on a tight schedule and a tight budget and he knew that from the start. Come the deadline to get all my paperwork in to my loan officer and Harvey tells me he doesn't want to do the job anymore, with no warning. This was the very last minute, after a couple weeks of prep time and me already pushing my schedule back to accommodate him! Now I am screwed and he wont return my emails or calls... Maybe after people read these reviews he won't be too busy to be a professional.

First I would like to say this reviewer is not a client. We never entered into a contract nor did he ever pay for any services rendered. He has no knowledge of our abilities as a renovation contractor. He was a "potential client" and asks for a bid for general repairs on a house that he was considering purchasing, but does not own. I'm not sure what he means by "I really should have read the reviews first." Our reviews are 5 stars. He also stated in his review that "this was last minute with after a couple weeks of prep time." Not true. I met him on Tuesday and on Monday morning withdrew from bidding. That is less than a week. I also returned a response to his email within an hour.
I met with the reviewer at the property for the first time on Tuesday morning and spent a couple of hours of my time going over items that he wanted a bid on. On Wednesday morning he sent me an email saying that he needed the bid in by the end of the week he also called and left a message. Next paragraph is a caption of the email reply that I sent him on Wednesday the 15th.
Thanks for the drawing. I just wanted to let you know where we stand. I cannot promise that I will have an estimate ready by Friday. I have to get the numbers from my subs, so it may take a day or two before I hear back from them. I also have a big job that is in front of yours that is extremely urgent. (a huge tree smashed clients house and they are in disarray) and I made them a promise before I met with you. "
I never once made any promises for submitting for his deadline.
On Monday morning the 20th". He sent an email requesting to make changes to the bid. I immediately and politely replied back and told him that we need to withdraw from bidding on his project due to our prior commitments and did not feel like we could serve him as needed and recommended that he hire a contractor more suited for his needs.
I never made him any promises as mentioned above and I was honest about my schedule upfront. I had other jobs ahead of his expectations for an estimate and I fulfill my commitments to my clients as I promise. That principle has served me and my company well through the years. I stand behind my decision to withdraw from bidding on his project and it was obvious to me after I emailed him on Monday morning that was the right thing to do. Again, my company never engaged in any work or transaction with the reviewer. I wish him well.
We've been in business for over 20 years and have a great track record.
Thanks for taking the time to read this review.
Harvey Ward - President Ward Construction Co., Inc.
We have only good comments for Ward Construction Co. They worked with us every step of the way of the addition to our home. They walked us through planning, financing, permitting, and the actual build. The team came in on time and under budget with a super-high quality job! They are always available to answer questions, and they keep the job site impeccably clean and tidy. The renovation process could have been a nightmare, but it was a fabulous experience. Will definitely use them again for any future renovation projects.
