My mother recently gave me an antique love seat that had belonged to my grandmother. This loveseat was in very bad shape but since it held so many memories, I decided it was worth restoring to its original glory. My husband and I searched around for the best antique restorer and came upon Richard Weems. We are so glad that we did. I never dreamed that my grandmother's loveseat could be restored as well as it was. Mr. Weems had to replace everything right down to the springs. The wood was cracked and falling apart and you can't even tell where the damage was anymore. The love seat looks better than it EVER did! My mother saw it for the first time at Thanksgiving and was overjoyed at how beautiful it was. She is so happy that she passed it down to me and that I had it restored. My husband and I are so happy with the amazing work that Richard Weems did for us at such a reasonable price! He paid attention to every detail including proper alignment of the fabric pattern. Would use him over and over again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for the best! Thank you, Richard, for giving me back a little piece of my childhood. I used to take naps on this loveseat and now my grandchildren can do the same. God bless you!

I inherited 2 pieces of family antiques this year when my mother moved into a retirement home...and both needed work. A diningroom table and china cabinet which had always been my favorite family treasures. Little did I know that the china cabinet had a beautiful "Top Piece" that we had never seen..it was in the basement... missing parts and very beaten up. I was so excited by the idea of a "complete" cabinet that none of us had ever seen! I was new to Atlanta and found Richard on the internet... I was a bit nervous about entrusting a stranger with these family heirlooms as I had heard stories of antiques being mistreated and value lost. Well I was more than amazed when the cabinet and the refurbished table arrived at my house. The cabinet took my breath away... you NEVER would have known that the top piece had been apart from the bottom. Richard made EXACT replica's of the missing parts and you really can't tell with the naked eye which parts are old and which parts are new! In addition, without request, Richard re-worked the lock on the cabinet and made a key to fit the lock! I had never seen a key for the cabinet nor had we ever had the ability to lock it! Now I am saving up for the next piece I want to take to this very talented artist... You must be an artist to do what he does and his passion and love for his work is crystal clear!!

Mr. Weems refinished my wife's grandmother's antique dining room set. No other heirs wanted the beat up, rickety, worn out set so my wife got it. Unfortunately during shipping it was also damaged pretty good with several legs broken off of the buffet and the china cabinet. In addition to the broken legs, the chairs were wobbly and about ready to come apart. Every Thanksgiving all of the family wondered if the table would give or one of the chairs. Anyway, Mr. Weems was able to restore the entire dining room suite. He did a marvelous job and you cannot tell that the set was damaged. They returned it to a like new condition considering that it has probably over a 100 years of character of which was preserved. I am afraid that one of the other senior heirs will now want this dining room set now that Mr. Weems has restored it. I am going to definitely send all of my restoration work to Mr. Weems. And I am going to recommend everyone else I know to use him. I usually bash businesses because of their lack of performance and I have even set up web sites to inform others not to use a particular business (cemshake.com and bfrogsucks.com). If I had before (which I should have taken but didn't) and after pictures I would create a Weem's fan web site. If I were you I would trust Mr. Weems to restore your furniture at a very fair price. He will definitely make sure it is done right and that is coming from someone that makes sure things are done right.

On April 11, 2008 Richard took my Grandmother's secretary that over the years had been neglected. It was scratched and had water damage. I asked him to restore it as best he could. What he did was a near miracle! It is now a beautiful family heirloom that I will proudly display in my new home. He also took a drop leaf pine table that my great-great Grandfather built and refinished it. It looks better than it did when it was given to me. Richard is a great craftsman!

My wife and I were devastated when her great grandfather's corner cabinet was delivered to our house in damaged condition. The shipper had carelessly handled this irreplaceable piece of history. The mid 19th century cabinet was rained on and punctured during the 48 hours of mishandling. What a dreadful feeling, torn between being mad at both the shipper and ourselves for having selected them. We were determined to have our corner cabinet repaired, however careful not to make another mistake in our selection process. We wanted to find someone we felt knew the cabinet's value and could correctly (with period wood and type) fix the damage. Many calls were made and quotes obtained and each time unsure if this was the right person. Fortunately for us, Weems & Assoc. Antique Restoration was there. Richard offered to come to our house and personally quote the repairs, without charging. A lot was learned about our piece that day as well as what should and shouldn't be done to repair the damage. It was during this visit that we knew we had found our craftsman. Richard repaired both the damage caused by the rain and the cracks in the wood due to the incompetent movers. We initially thought the piece would never be the same, and that we would be reminded of our hasty shipper selection every time we looked at the cabinet. But thanks to Richard's skilled craftsmanship and know-how, the piece looks better than ever! With confidence, I recommend this company.

William is a true craftsman. He was on time, honest, knowledgeable about his craft, and his work was impeccable. He did everything: replaced canning, upholstered, carved new pieces for broken claw legs and gave me a free lesson in antiques. He takes pride in his work and it shows. He is the BEST!!!
