Decided to try them out. Read the reviews before I went. Told myself that no clinic could be that bad. Well. Its worse than you would imagine. The front desk is uncaring to your needs and your pets. Had to tell them that I needed to come back in 3 weeks for booster shots for my puppy.I had my puppies ears cropped by Dr. Griffin, they were cut uneven. When I asked him about it he said that they were fine and told me that he wasn't going to do anything about them and for me to find another vet.He was very inconsiderate and uncaring to my pets needs and myself. Please don't take your pets there.

This is a PSA about WEST STANLY ANIMAL CLINIC IN LOCUST. PLEASE DO USE them. I am writing this review for my mom. She had her little Yorkie(TINKER) spaded on Monday(8/5/13) by Dr. Griffin. On Tuesday her incision was red and my mom called them and they said that it was normal and not worry.. Then on Wednesday 8/7/13 she developed a lump the size of a plum on the incision and again my called the office and again she was told that normal, that it is probably a reaction to the sutures but they would check her if it would make her feel better. So, my mom took her up to the office to be checked by Dr. Griffin, who picked her took one look at her and said that she is fine. Mom took her dog and left. About 7:30pm that night, mom took the dog out on a leash to potty came back in to feed her, she would not eat, mom looked down to find her guts hanging out of the busted incision and almost bleeding to death. Now she is in emergency surgery at the Cabarrus Emergency Vet. to repair her and she has a 50/50 chance to live. MY MOM IS NOW BEING ACCUSED OF INJURING HER OWN DOG TO GET MONEY. TINKER PASSED AWAY THURSDAY MORNING. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS OFFICE. They are awful!!!!!! I myself have had 2 bad experiences with this office. PLEASE SHARE WITH ANYONE & EVERYONE. PASS IT ON!!!

Dr. Griffin is the worst vet I have ever used! If I could give him a negative rating on this review, I would. I haven't found one review on the net that was positive about this vet. He owns West Stanly Animal Clinic as well as Albemarle Animal Clinic in Stanly County. So if you go to either you going to get the same treatment. The WSAC office is understaffed and it's run like a factory. There are no appts. other than surgery, you just show up and wait your turn. The mentality is, get them in and out in less than 30 minutes. Dr. Griffin is nothing more than a backyard vet. He has no compassion for animals, does not know how to listen and interact people, treats the pet and owners like he's running an assembly line, pushes only Science Diet food only. Dr. Griffin as well as his staff are extremely rude and seem to just not care. There is a newer staff person (Shelly) who is very nice. I hope she doesn't pick up the attitude the other staff members have. Dr. Shaver also seems to genuinely care, but working under Dr. Griffin is going to eventually ruin her career. I hope she reconsiders her choice and finds a good vet to work under. They are cheap but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Office manager is very rude to customers. Tried to bring to owners attention by leaving message and sending a letter, no response at all after being a long time customer. Dr. Yowell is a great vet but is no longer in this office.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Yowell for quite a while. She is very loving and compassionate. She has provided excellent care to both my dogs. I highly reccomend this office and Dr. Yowell. It is also worth driving from Mt. Pleasant. Would not dream of going anywhere else!!

West Stanly Animal Clinic is definitely worth the trip from Concord. Dr Ann Yowell provided excellent care for our pet. She is experienced and compassionate. They can't be beat. We will make the drive every time our "babies" need attention.

Westie Rescue recomends DR Ann at West Stanley Animal Clinic as she has been helping Westies get the medical treatment, experienced Vet care, and compassion that only a caring human like her can offer. She has personnally helped over 25 Westies get the treatment neede so they were ready for their new adoption homes. We can recommend her to anyone seeking a professional Vet!
