Everyone in the office is so kind and helpful that the short hours they are there some days don't matter to me. I will jump through hoops to go to this practice. I love the vets at Clairmont Animal Hospital, formerly Emory. But for the value, I go to Dr. Ruth and her folks for everything. She remembers me and my dog and the cat I had when I first started going to her years ago. She was so kind when I had to put my cat to sleep after 19 years of her life. Her vet tech has helped me many times. One day I came in and their were many people ahead of me. He came out asked the problem and then told me what to do for my dog. I wasn't charged and the information he gave me was very helpful. I recommend this practice highly!!

We just moved to Atlanta and were looking for a new vet. A friend recommended Dr Ruth. She is amazing! We brought our 14 year old dog in for some health issues and she was so gentle and understanding with him. She recommended the simplest treatment, not trying to up sell us into more expensive tests and treatments, like the larger clinics so often do, in our experience. You can tell she really knows what she's talking about and takes the time to explain things to you. The personal attention we and our dog got from Dr Ruth was worth the wait (which wasn't bad at all for a walk in). We will be trusting Dr Ruth will all three of our pets for the long haul.

Dr. Ruth is wonderful. She is one of the best diagnostic vets you will ever find. Dr. Ruth has an unbelievable sense of what is wrong with your pet without the first scan or prick of a needle. Please be patient sometimes it's a wait but truly worth it.

Dr Ruth is wonderful. Our dog loves her and the rest of the staff. She actually runs from the car to see Jaime and get a biscuit. Always a good experience, fair prices, and friendly people. Even the other patient's 'people' are exceptionally nice.

My family has been taking our pets to Dr. Whiteway for over 30 years. Now that I've moved back to Atlanta, I've found that Dr. Ruth is just as capable now that she has taken over the practice. Recently I brought in my cat that is dealing with end of life health issues. Dr. Ruth showed touching care and concern not only for my pet, but also in walking me through the options we may have to take. Any real pet owner knows how difficult this part can be. Like the best people-doctor, Dr. Ruth's bedside manner was exceptional. And concidering these economic times, the cost of the visit and medicine were far less than other vets I've looked into, which took off some of the burden of an already difficult and sensitive situation. This is what an old fashion neighborhood vet is supposed to be!

It is wonderful to have this vet in town, I would say our bills average about 1/4 what they were when we went to Briarcliff Animal Hospital. It is nice to be able to not worry about affording a trip to get our dog care. And the vet is just great at treating animals. We have had successful regular care and surgery here. The only limitation is you do have to wait for appointments, which are walk-in only; if you have plenty of money and no time, this may not be the right place for you.

I called to asked some questions before bringing my pets there, the person made me feel like my questions wer dumm, she didn't care to listen to me. Then while asking a question she just hung up. If they are that rude on the phone, I am not chancing take my pets there.

I want to address a couple of the other reviews out there. Whiteway Animal Hospital is not a huge impersonal over-sterilized affair. There are no long white hallways & rows & rows of kennels. The hospital is in an older converted home. There is a fish tank in the waiting area & her cats are always wandering the premises. What this means is that Dr. Scott genuinely likes animals & you will always get personalized well-seasoned advice at a ridiculously low price. Dr. Scott will not prescribe tests and medications that your pet does not need. She will answer any and all questions you have. I have asked her advice on everything from housebreaking to the best chew treats. I really can't say enough good things about her and her staff. I have been taking my dog to her for about a year and a half. My first visit was awesome. They were extremely nice, knew my dogs name within a few minutes, and refused to accept payment because it was my first visit and I had rescued my dog from the Humane Society. My dog ended up having a bad case of kennel cough from being at the shelter. We're talking full-blown coughing fits that made it hard for her to breath. Dr. Scott helped me nurse her back to health over the next month and when she wrote prescriptions she would recommend where to get them filled (for example Publix fills many common drug prescriptions for $4). Her office hours are MWF 8:30-11:30 & 2-6 pm. TTh 8:30-12. Don't trust the furry part of your family to anyone else!

I have been going to Dr. Ruth for years and even when it was her Veteranarian father's clinic. In reference to the review that said it smelled - that is complete nonsense. Yes it is an older building but I have never noticed anything but a fresh smell. It is always immaculately clean. Dr. Ruth is the greatest and extremely knowledgeable. The prices are good too. Judge for yourself!

Unfortunately the place is terribly run down, in great need of paint, repair, etc..when I opened the door to walk in, the odor was so bad I felt I could barely breathe. Was not an odor of dog or cat mess but that of a very dirty, stanky building that is in desperate need of some good, deep down cleaning! Even the trash can in the recept.area was running over with trash and looked like it had never see any disinfectant or water. been washed. This was my first time to take my cat to Dr. Ruth. She seems to love animals very dearly, and certainly knows her stuff. But, when I went to the front to check out, I paid in cash and stood there waiting for the receptionist to give me a receipt. Never happened. She told me they don't give receipts but if I wanted one, she could get me one. I just said that's o k. By then, I was having a little trouble breathing as I have respiratory problems to begin with & the odors However, I didn't even get any paper work showing that my cat had even been treated by Dr. Ruth. Very strange. It was like my visit didn't even exist. Maybe that's why on Tuesday & Thursday mornings they except walk-ins only...no receipt? no record of the transaction...something just doesn't seem right about that. Can only speculate. Don't know if I will go back .

We were concerned when our vet (Dr. Gordon) retired a few years back that we wouldn't find another that we'd like but Dr. Ruth and the Whiteway staff are terrific, caring, and the prices are ultra reasonable. We take our dog and our cat there. Most recently, our 18 year old kitty seemed to be on her last life, but some good diagnosis, TLC, and a recommended food change by Dr. Ruth seems to have given her one more life yet! Kudos to her and her staff.

My little min-dachshund went in for her shots and had a very bad reaction to the shots. Barbie began had trouble breathing and was swelling up all over her little face. I rushed her into Dr. Ruth (my sister burst through the waiting room and into an exam room where there was another patient) and Dr. Ruth immediately took her back and began treatment on my baby. She stayed with us and comforted us while we waited for the swelling to go down. After Barbie had stabilized (I was still in panic mood) she asked if she could take Barbie home with her to watch over her through the night and the next day. Dr. Ruth knows that I'm a teacher and would have taken her to work and/or called in sick, but she promised that she would be there for my baby. What other vet in Atlanta would do that for you? She is truly the St. Francis of Atlanta...she pulled my baby through and made sure that not only was she going to be allright, that I would be too. God bless you Dr. Ruth, you are the epitome of what all vets should be. Thank you from the deepest part of my heart. I will never forget would you did for me and Barbie.

Very pleased with our experience at Whiteway. They examined a rescue dog we adopted, and didn't even charge us. They saw us right away, and were loving, kind, and compassionate. It felt much more "homey", which we really liked. Their front-office person is wonderful!

We were referred to Dr. Ruth by our friends who have been taking their pets to her for a long time. She and her staff are all wonderful. They knew our puppy by name after the first two visits. You can really tell they care about you and your pet. I would recommend Whiteway to anyone no matter where you live in ATL.
