Lines are ok, rides are great, and the people working there are cool..good times had by all. Got 15% off our general admission tickets because we bought it off a site called discounts4fun. We also... got a $10 wahoo's gift card because of that transaction.

A great way to cool off, 7/10/2011

it's a great way to have fun in the summer time, and if you have passes, you are in luck! Great deals and the shortest lines ever!

We native Californians don't go to water parks, or stupid tourist traps like the overpriced water park you mentioned. They are there to keep all the dipshits from other states like Texas corralled in one place and off our beaches and mountains.

Be Careful

I write this review purely as a warning. WR is a great place to enjoy your summer. We have been season pass holders for years. Lately, the customer base has changed drastically. Crime within the park has started occurring. The security staff is ill equipped to handle it. Do not for any reason leave unattended bags in the children's area of the park(river area), This is where the thieves are targeting. It is not just petty theft. They steal the obvious.......wallets, ipods, cash, etc. THEY ALSO STEAL CARS. The cameras in the parking lot don't work. They take the car keys out to the lot and just start pressing until they find it. They took mine one afternoon between 3 and 5 PM two weeks after stealing four or five other peoples personal bags. My car ended up stripped in Santa Ana. SAPD does not even print the cars when recovered so the thieves can steal with impugnity. I grew up in SA so I can tell you that the gang tattooed guys I saw at WR that day were from Santa Ana. Use a locker even if you only bring car keys into the park. My bag only had a small amount of cash and car keys. They like Chevys.....big ones,....trucks, suburbans, avalanches and tahoes. Good Luck and stay attentive.

Sad to hear that they are closing this year. But stoked to hear that they are opeinging back up somewhere in Irvine. This place is a classic and should be visited befoere the closure.

Best Waterpark Around!

I take my children to Wild Rivers almost 3 times a month if not more! I know I can take them there and we are guaranteed a safe and fun time. The rides are great the water is clean the lines aren't too long and the staff there is soo helpful!

mixed

A small step up from Hurricane Harbor and a giant step down for mankind... err... from Raging Waters. There are some good slides, but overall, it's pretty dinky and by the scent of the lazy river, it seems as though some intertubed guests got a little too lazy.

expensive, dated feel, many fees

I visited this park today becuase we got free passes from our tire dealer. If I had paid I would be really upset right now. \r\rLet me start by acknowledging that I come from AZ and TX - so yes, I am still acclimating to the high prices that native Californians dont blink an eye too so forgive me for the following rant if you think its off base. \r\rWild Rivers is overpriced to the point that I would never visit again. Its basically $29 a person, which quickly becomes very costly if you go with more than one person. Then add $8 parking. then add $5 to $8 for a raft (single/double). Dont think about foregoing the raft becuase many of the rides require it. Add another $6 to $10 for a locker, depending on which size locker you need ( I do not recommend the small, it will basically hold a single towel and a phone, wont hold a full bag of stuff for a family or something). Then after all that add on food and drinks. You of course are not allowed to bring in any of your own refreshments unless its water. Maybe the high prices are how they keep the lines short as mentioned in other reviews, but I also suspect the dated feel of the park is another contributor to the short lines. All in all, Californians should either utilize the array of free beach options available to them or take dips in any regular pool at their disposal in their communities/apartment complexes. Wild River totally not worth visiting. their variety of rides is so so and the quality of the rides - again, so so. The coolest thing they had was a feature called hurrican harbour which was like a body boarding strong wave pool - but of course entrance to that feature was an additional $5 a head. Ugh.

NO LINES

Wild Rivers is the all-time best water park in Southern California, at most water parks you stand in line till you are completly dry waiting to get on the next ride, not at Wild Rivers. They do have cool rides, If they could only take some of the rides out of Raging Waters and add it would be awsome. Don't forget to try the Bazooka Bowls.
