Late in reviewing. 2012 appraisal used to appeal Dekalb value. I had hearing and Board members agreed with Dekalb value stating "they could not go against county value." This is no fault of Greg's... written appraisal. I will use him again.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

we appreciate the review. We are sorry to hear that the county didn't follow proper protocol. State laws are written to allow for you to appeal and it appears as if the county is skirting these laws by not listening to factual data that proves them wrong. This could be taken before superior court should you decide to go that route.

This company does not know how to do a professional appraisal. Do not trust their opinions. They used a flood plain short sale to comp a traditional non flood plain house. I would strongly suggest not using this company.
We thank and encourage all reviews and feedback if they are true. While there was a home in our analysis that was located in a flood zone, the flood zone had no negative effect on the value of that home. Actually, of all the homes used in the analysis, this particular home sold for the most amount of money. The person that wrote the review is not happy because their home was overpriced when they tried to sell it and wasn't worth what they hoped. The person, with the Realtors involved, did try to manipulate the lender into thinking the analysis was flawed but the lender was in agreement that our analysis was sound and fully supported. Sadly there are people out there that will attempt to manipulate the system like this. It's instances like this that caused some of the recent market declines and loss in home values. We encourage all of our readers to seek the facts and read all the reviews before making any decisions on hiring any service professional. Including builders like the one that wrote this review.
Apologies for prior review. Just got my county reassessment for taxes at $631,000 and Greg had us at $458,000 as worse than all comparable on street. I now have great basis to challenge my tax assessment.
Greg is forthright, independent and very professional. He tells things as they are, not as the client might want to hear them and that's invaluable in getting home valuation and marketing right.
Possibly the best service I've received from a company. Greg himself came out. A cheery guy, he wasted no time but also paused to answer questions completely and courteously. He knew his stuff and worked efficiently, even though I kept peppering him with questions. After finishing his measurements and basic calcs, he sat us down at the kitchen table to explain what he did, what he knew about the home so far, what he was going to do, and set up accurate expectations. He made sure we were comfortable with his goals of fairness and accuracy. Due to time pressure we asked if he could expedite the report, to which he set a good expectation of "before Monday" (on Friday afternoon), and we said ok... he delivered ahead of time. After the appraisal came in, I contacted him for some clarifications and his responses, both email and phone, were prompt and patient, taking as much time as needed for me to understand. One thing that stood out (besides all the above, which although one expects, one rarely receives), is his attitude of no BS, no talking-down to the client. Too often, professionals tend to treat the homeowner as if he/she is, well, retarded. Greg spoke to us on an even level, explaining when necessary or asked but never assuming we were idiots who were just lucky enough to have a half-mil to purchase a nice home. For this alone he gets top marks, and the rest is gravy. Highly recommended.
Worth Every Dollar provided me with friendly, fast service and an excellent appraisal. I was very impressed with the full report and all the detail they provided. My house is different than most of the nearby homes, but they found appropriate comps and helpful info. Greg Wilkinson runs an excellent business, is very knowledgeable and a delight to work with. I recommend them highly and would use them again.
We worked with Worth Every Dollar Appraisals recently - we purchased a condo in Decatur, GA. The appraisal provided us with considerable information - most specifically good details about recent sale prices and seller concessions within the development. Greg Wilkinson was incredibly helpful throughout, responding quickly to our follow up questions. The appraisal really helped us shape our final offer and led to a transaction that we felt very good about! Thanks, Greg!
The Douglas County tax assesors office LOST big time. Just with his current market assesment paper work. Numbers talk in this business. County said $107,250. After it was all over. $ 76,000. Greg came to my home was profesional and honest. He will be fair and tell you the truth in what ever he does for you.
On 12/12/2011 I contacted Worth Every Dollar to inquire about getting an appraisal for our home in Stone Mountain. Within 24 hours I received a response and we scheduled an appointment with Greg for January 6. After meeting Greg we were impressed with his sincerity, honesty, thoroughness and dry-wit. We explained that our primary purpose for the appraisal was to ascertain a professional market value for our home. When we got the written report back on January 15 we felt, due to its thoroughness, that we received that. The appraisal also will be the basis for a possible appeal of our 2012 tax assessment.
Greg did our home appraisal recently, and, aside from providing a very fair and thorough report, I was most impressed with his level of customer service. He takes the time to clearly outline what factors were used in his report, as well as answer any questions you have. I had questions after about 3 months of his appraisal, and he was still very willing to help and provide additional assistance. Service goes above and beyond...thanks Greg!
I had a hearing today to lower my property taxes. I haven't heard back yet on the results but I wouldn't have had a chance of winning without my Worth Every Dollar appraisal. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. Tommie worked around my schedule, prepared a professional review (including photos and comparable properties) and answered all of my questions, even on a Sunday. As an aside, make sure to proof read the appraisal. On one page, the font was too light to read but it was fixed as soon as I brought it to her attention. Highly recommended!
When I started shopping around for an appraiser and I called Greg, I had a lot of questions. When I called him, he was very courteous from my first phone call and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns. I called around a few others but ended up coming back to him because I was very impressed by his customer service skills, professionalism and knowledge. He came out to do the appraisal and was very professional and and did a very thorough job. I didn't like the news he had for us regarding the value of our home but it's not his fault but how the market is. He was still very sensitive to my feelings and took the time to sit down with me and explain how he arrived at that value. I also had some questions about the measurements of the square footage of the house and he came out a second time and spent two additional hours with me re-measuring to make sure I was convinced that all the measurements were right. He even showed me how he measured. Even my realtor said, I can't believe he came out a second time. Most appraisers won't do that. And he didn't charge me a penny more. His appraisal report was also better than any other I have ever seen. I cannot say enough about the quality of his work, his timeliness, his attention to detail and in addition to that, he is just a REALLY NICE and PLEASANT person to deal with. He did a SUPERB job. I am very satisfied with his appraisal service and would recommend him to anyone.
Greg was on time, courteous and professional. Would definately use again. Turn around time was fast even though it was the Holidays. Thanks Greg!
The appraisal from our buyer's lender came out much lower than we expected, and even lower than the offer price from the buyer. It was a total shock, and one of our options was to hire another appraiser, and if the new appraisal value is higher, we can talk to the lender. I called Greg asking for advice. He was very nice and patient, listened to my story, and offered to look at the the appraisal report we just received. Well, he did more than just looking at it. Instead, he did some research on the houses in our neibourhood, made a table of the comparable houses, and gave me his opinion. To make story short, we eventually decided not to do another appraisal because it looks like that the lender's appraiser is not willing to make changes no matter what. Had we decided to hire another appraiser, Greg would definitely have been our choice! Did I mention that Greg did that research for me for free?
