Michelle is great with my dogs. She knows her dogs and really cares about them and you as the owner. She makes sure everyone one is involved. Michelle goes the extra mile to get help for a animal if it is needed and she has great sources. I can always contact her with any questions or concerns and she gives a prompt response. Michelle does not fool around she takes her job seriously. I can highly recommend Mannerly Mutt as your dog trainer.

Upon bringing home our second Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy Rufus, we quickly learned he was going to be much different than our 9 year old Ridgeback Ginger. Ginger really needed NO training at all. She simply did what we asked her when we asked her to do it. We had some training tools under our belt from Ginger, however, within a week of having Rufus, we threw our hands in the air and were at a loss. I googled obedience trainers in Delaware County and Michelle's site was the first to pop up. Just glancing at her site, I was impressed and called her right away. She was able to schedule us for 6 weeks of in home and one on one training within a week of my initial call to her! At first, we were very skeptical about clicker training, but quickly learned that this style of training is no joke! It's safe, it's humane and most important of all, it's completely effective!! She is extremely knowledgable in her field and is probably one of the most patient people I have ever met. She offers beginner, intermediate and CGC classes and in addition, offers Nose Work classes which Ginger loves! Michelle is always available by cell, text or email whenever I have a question or need advice. I would absolutely recommend her to ANYONE and Ginger and Rufus are in love with her! Rufus needs lots of training and structure every day but Michelle has given us the tools and skills to make our puppy boy the best "little" man he can be.

I was skeptical about clicker training at first but since working with Michelle have found it to be a very effective tool for positive training. Michelle is a very gifted dog trainer and is clearly dedicated to her craft. She has a wealth of information for any and all dog-related questions and keeps up on all the latest research and articles. I had read several dog training books and tried to do some training on my own with my first dog, but decided to go with professional help when we added a puppy to the family. The difference in working with someone one on one in person was huge! I didn't think it was possible to work with a puppy so young, but Michelle got him to respond to a whole list of important commands. I would recommend Michelle to anyone needing either one on one training, or group classes for a dog of any age. Not only does she teach the dogs, but more importantly she teaches the owners to be able to continue to practice and train and home. Michelle pays attention to the people too and make sure everyone "gets it" before moving on- she really cares about everyone succeeding and for the dogs to have a safe and happy life. Her rates are very reasonable and she also makes herself available for questions after class - but really life with a well-behaved, happy dog = priceless!

We have gotten to know Michelle through working with our 3 dogs in our home and in classes. She has a real gift for training shy and fearful dogs. She really cares about the dogs and their owners. We have tried many different training methods over the years. We really liked her positive training style. Training is fun for the dogs and owners!

We got our very active lab mix puppy back in September and immediately began looking for a trainer. After reviewing a lot of trainers in the area, we chose Michelle due to her use of positive reinforcement training and a great phone conversation we had with her. Our dog is currently in the Canine Good Citizen class after successfully completing beginner and intermediate obedience classes. He has also done a six week nose work class with Michelle which he absolutely loved. We will continue to use Michelle's services and refer her to our friends and family!

I was referred to Michelle by my former boss, who raved about her. I had never had any experience with a trainer before, so I was a bit nervous about what to expect. My boyfriend and I had two 10 week old pit bull puppies that we wanted to have trained together, which Michelle did at no additional charge. Not only was Michelle able to accommodate our insane schedules, but she also offered tips over the phone and via email between sessions.Michelle was patient and kind with both of our puppies. Both adored her and she was ever patient with Lily, who was a little more rambunctious than Phoebe. She provided us with information about work for food toys (which they both LOVED), and deer antlers (who knew?) for them to chew on. When Michelle was around, we didn't exist to those puppies lol.The training itself (clicking and treats) seemed simple, but trying to apply the techniques is not as easy as it seems, especially with two puppies with short attention spans. Michelle really helped us understand how all of our actions affected our puppies' behavior and worked with us on our patience, which was not as ample as hers. It was a pleasure to watch them become better behaved throughout the training experience. Unfortunately, Phoebe passed away not very long after we completed her training; however, Michelle was kind enough to email all of the pictures she had taken of Phoebe to me. If I ever needed training services again, I would definitely call Michelle!

We started with Michelle when our dog Buddy was a puppy. We did private in-home, completed Canine Good Citizen and started on Nose Work. Michelle KNOWS dogs and LOVES them! Kudos to an attentive, mindful and caring trainer!

Michelle is just super. Our dog, Cooper, has come a long way and now he enjoys working with Michelle. She showed us how to reinforce what she has taught him. Cooper is more relaxed and there is a big difference in him. It was amzing what he learned and as long as we reinforce her lessons he will be good. Thank you Michelle for helping us with cooper.
Michelle helped us so much with our hyper puppy! She showed me how to stay calm instead of getting frustrated during training and once I relaxed our dog started to pick up everything she was teaching him! He loves his Aunt Michelle!!
The group classes are excellent. My dog has greatly improved and I am learning how to better work with my dog. The teacher is very positive and supportive. I always look forward to going to the classes.
when we adopted pickles, he needed a lot of help - untrained, hyper, nipping, overall terrible behavior. through consistent, patient, kind but firm training, michelle completely turned him around. she was available to me whenever i needed her - answering questions and connecting me with the right tools and resources. she taught me how to address literally every issue we had. thank goodness we got him the proper training and didn't give up on our commitment to bring this wonderful boy into our lives. thank you, michelle, for everything
The following review represents my opinion and account of experiences with Michelle Frumento in July / August 2012: Michelle disappointed us greatly. We had a difficult rescue dog with schizofrenic behavior. The dog's behavior became worse and worse throughout our training sessions with Michelle. After the dog attacked my wife 4 times, leaving bite marks for weeks on her legs, we returned him to the shelter. While addressing our dog's behavior problems, Michelle failed to sufficiently address aggression, biting, etc. Rather, she sent us to the vet to put the dog on Prozac. Michelle's training methods seem only to consist treats and clicking. In my opinion, you can use youtube to get examples and be equally successful without spending on her services. Once our dog was returned to the shelter, we had no way of continuing to use her services. We had used 3 out of 6 private training sessions, yet she refused to provide a refund of the remaining funds. Be warned - Michelle requires you to pay in advance for 6 sessions. If you use Michelle's services, and are disappointed, you have no way of getting money back for services not rendered.
Michelle is an amazing dog coach. I say dog coach, because while she works with the dogs she trains during her sessions, she knows how to coach her clients through the most important part of training: practice and follow-through of her recommendations (homework). She will bend backwards for you and your dog, and if you do your part, you will be amazed at what a great team you make. This is where the real value lies: YOU will learn how to teach your dog. The changes you see in your pup will be mostly due to you- and it's such an amazing realization, one that Michelle will help you reach. Her knowledge of canine behavior, her empathy, her guidance, and the fact that she will always be direct with you is what makes her incredible. Training with her will change your relationship with your dog for the better. Why are you still reading this? Pick up the phone and call her already!!
When I called to schedule training I was at my whit's end and was considering getting rid of my dog. Michelle came to my home and was amazing with her! She was patient and helped me through all of my questions and mistakes and my dog recently passed her Canine Good Citizen test and is currently doing therapy visits! Thank you Michelle!
