A friend and myself were looking for conservative faith based home schooling programs for our children. Zion looked interesting for our children. The curriculum is repetitive and hard to keep a child interested in all subjects, especially when you have to do pages and pages of long division. I think they get it after a few. The Social Studies and Science were the better of the books. It is pretty shocking when you as the parent receive the test scores back for math(that you yourself have checked) and it is a failing grade. When you ask the company why they say the problems were not checked. Really? There were no clear instructions on checking every problem. When you know your child has grasped the material and then they get an F? And if you ask for a copy of any test you are told "We have over a thousand students, no you may not have a copy." Pastor Lindsay is so condescending and talks to you, the parent, like your an idiot. Pastor Lindsay is quite disrespectful and maybe has too much of a work load. For a Faith based program, they are lacking on Christian ethics. My friend bowed out at the end of last school year(she wasn't charged). I decided to give my son a little more time at home, but the next F and condescending phone call with Pastor Lindsay and I had had it. And now they are trying to charge me an exit fee of hundreds of dollars when there is no agreement I would pay anything if I ever wanted to exit. I pray for Pastor Lindsay to become a better person.

I am a current student in this school and I must say it has made a true difference in my life! I have been enrolled for four years(9-12th grades). The quality of the curriculum is great, and I like the deadlines as they keep me from procrastinating and I always know what is expected of me. I have recently been accepted into a private university that is very selective, and I am proud to say I couldn't have done it without the education I have received through Zion Academy! Graduation is quickly approaching and I can truly say this school has prepared me well for life.

Zion Academy has been a blessing for son! Having a child with learning disabilities & a school that works closely with you regarding this has been extremely helpful. The staff is encouraging & helpful & always takes plenty of time to answer my questions. I have always been made to feel that we are important & all matters are expedited quickly. I appreciate the fact that they have deadlines & requirements as this encourages the student to become independent as well as holds the parents accountable. Most importantly for us is that the curriculum is Christian based & it is evident that the administration is also. I highly recommend Zion! (enrolled 4 years)

I tried this school for an entire school year with my child. I would highly Not recommend it to anyone. The testing and placement testing is very poor. The staff is very rude. The staff does not answer the children when they have a question. The fees are way out of line. Everything about this school was a waist of time and money. If you want a highly based school, look into keystone in bloomburg, pa. you will not be disappointed!!

As the other posters have noted, Zion will fee you to death. They also are very inflexible when it comes to trying to help you with any problems. Ms. (Pastor?) Lindsey runs the school as if you are privileged to be sending your money to them as opposed to seeing that it is her privileged to teach your child. Buyer beware, looks elsewhere.

This school is not a good choice for distant education! THEY do not have the students best interest at heart whatsoever! They will "FEE YOU TO DEATH" and when everything is said an done you will need a support group for how horrible you were treated as a parent while your child was enrolled there. It is so sad!
