and Something Blue

No joke, this actually happened. \r\rMy sister got married this June in the south of France. 72 hours before the wedding a tearful bridesmaid arrived 4 hours late to a train station in an unnamed location in the south of France. After 2 days of travel and over $600 in replacement ticket costs, a fearful yet adoreable San Francisco teacher gave the mother of the bride the bad news. ""My luggage was stolen and my bridesmaid dress was in it."" After accepting the sad fact on her arduous journey that she would not be part of one her best friends wedding a spark of hope appears\r\rThe maid of honor's dress is the same size as the missing dress. And there was a sample dress at the store where they were purchased that fit the maid of honor. Though in a different color and same pallet. With fingers crossed.. a call was made to something blue. Not only did something blue come through in a pinch, they came through with flying colors. Upon hearing the story the store manager Lisa ran to the post office that day and shipped the sample dress over night. The dress arrived the day before the wedding with hours to spare.\r\rI feel the need to share this story for several reasons, but the most important being to thank something blue and most of all Lisa. Though I have never tried, nor hope to, I find it hard to believe that a chain store would ship their sample dress with personal assurance that it will arrive on time. For those of you who try to support small business, this is a reminder why. For all of you future brides to be, when you stop by something blue please keep this story in mind.
