Saw that the LICtalk blog did a profile on this local business and it piqued my interest. Even the NYT has covered it. I've had these (hundreds of) CDs lying around and I've just been to busy to do anything about it. Made a deal with the iPodMeister people and it was a smooth, positive experience. Check them out.

This company is really great. I had a ton of CDs laying around from my ex-music reviewer days (do those even exist anymore?!) and wanted the whole thing cleaned out. I had about 2000 CDs so they came right to the apartment, picked up everything and even handed me a check then and there. I was never so glad to be rid of anything in my life. You should check these guys out, not many places still drive to pick up collections anymore, especially huge ones, considering how little CDs are worth today anyway.

I found this place because I was originally I was interested in recycling them. I wanted to see where I could drop them off where they wouldnt be in a landfill. I heard about this place and thought, why not? They recycle whatever they cant use and then send the rest of the good CDs overseas to be reused internationally. Ended up with a new harddrive as well. Win win.

And I've never been happier. I really really just wanted to get rid off all that junk in my garage, even my kids didn't want it. I figured this place was easy, ship for free, I just wanted to do the minimum amount of work. No hours listing on ebay or Craigslist. They took everything and sent me a check. It's a shame the way the music business is going, so Im getting out while the used market is still decent.

don't waste your time with them. The other review on here must be staged. They take your Cds and give you a fraction of the money. They'll tell you the whole collection is scratched or penny CDs or some such non-sense that they don't openly disclose until you send everything in. Total waste of time and I'll refer everyone to not get near them in the future. Lots of other good options out there - I should have known this sounded too good to be true.

Really fast. Reasonable rates for trades. Very friendly, explained all steps. I was nervous, handing over my precious cds to the iPodmeister. Very satisfied with Abby who was very patient and answered all my questions. I wanted an iPad but I was a little short so they offered me a 64gb iPod touch and a check for $100. Times are tough and it was nice to know that places like this exist to ease the financial burden of the cost of new electronics. I picked up the iPod this weekend and was nothing but satisfied. The item was new in the box with all the plastic, warranty and earphones that it would have come with if I had purchased it in the iPod store. Plus I got to prove my boyfriend wrong (again!) and somethings that seem to good to be true are not. It is important to note that their customer service is top notch, they care about the happiness of their customers.

I was refered to Podmeister by a friend who had really good experiences both times that she and her husband brought in Cds to them. The free shipping was convenient for me since FedEx picks up at my work everyday and I just had to hand them over. The girls working there were professional and polite. I asked as many questions as I could and never felt like they were trying to hurry me off the phone or avoid my emails. I thought the exchange rates were reasonable and fair given the market for used CDs these days. I had my new iPod in a couple days, just like they said I would, new in the package with all the warranty information and headphones included. I have already recommended them to several family members and friends with cluttered basements and attics.

I tried iPodmeister out a couple weeks ago to get an Amazon kindle. (They're actually called Podmeister now, I think they've changed their name since the last reviewer.) I was very surprised that the service was so fast. Dropped off the cds on a Wednesday night and actually got my comfirmation email the next afternoon. The folks at Podmeister were good enough to answer my questions when ever I called. I had about 500 CDs of various genres and decades. They took everything I had, they didnt only accept the ones worth more and then tell me the rest of the cds didnt count. I really appreciate that they played it straight with me and did what they said they were going to do. This is a service you cant really get anywhere else and they were local (for me, living in queens) so I was very fortunate to have found them. One of the best decisions Ive made this year.

Scraping together enough money for an iPad is very tough. Luckily those of use without an extra $700 in our pockets have a saviour by the name of iPodmeister. They are a small company that will take your used cds and dvds and trade them for all sorts of stuff. Mostly iPods and iPads, iPhones, etc. It's a unique idea that can get you that much closer to being a technologically advanced Apple automatron (and I mean that in the best way). The people are pretty helpful and very quick. The turnaround was about 3 days til the transaction was completed. I decided on the iPhone 4 and an iPod Nano, since it was time for an upgrade for me ane the nano was a gift for my kid sister. I was very satified with the service. It's easy as taking candy from a baby (but not quite as mean.)

You could double your shelf space in about 20 minutes. Ditch the CDs and get yourself something nice instead. Like a new iPod, iPad, or iPhone 4. Simply mail or drop your stuff off with iPodmesiter (either way it's free, no shipping charges) and then soon enough you will have a new iPod on your hands! In my experience it took about 3 days to get the results and then it was about another 3 to get my iPod FedExed to my door. I had a tracking number for everything so I knew exactly when everything was going to arrive. No guesswork. They even let me pick up the ones that were rejected because they were promos. Dont take them to some crazy pawnshop thats going to lowball you on sight. You should try iPodmeister, you'll definately get your dollars worth.

ipodmeister's really good deal for cds. i had a bunch of cds i got from my uncle in the bronx, mostly salsa and bachata, stuff i dont want at all. my bro in queens told me about this place he heard about near queens blvd that would take cds and give you an iphone 4. i wasnt doing nothing wit them anyway. i drove them over myself and talked to them, and handed over the boxes. i waited til they were done lookin through them, took like an hour, so i hung out. they gave me a check instead of the iphone so i went around the corner an cashed it. i had the money in no time. good guys, good service.

iPodmeister definately got it right. Something people are looking to unload (ie old used cds) for things people are looking to get (ie. iPods, a new iPad or the iPhone 4). Supply and demand at it's finest. I can vouch that this truely works too. I like most people was looking for an iPhone 4. And also, like most people I had a stack of CDs in my garage that hadn't seen the light of day since Blues Traveler called it quits. (They did break up right?) Anyway, the iPodmeister staff was great, communicative and best of all fast. Within a couple days I had my check and was good to go. iPhone 4, here I come. They do have a drop off location if you dont want to ship them, which is sometimes easier, and faster. iPodmeister worked for me!

When I am considering a business the most important thing to me is customer service. How I am treated and how they treat others is really indicative of how they do business and what kind of place it is. I am happy to say that iPodmeister does it right. I contacted iPodmeister when I was looking to get the new iPhone 4 and read about them in the Daily News in NY. Seemed like an easy trade, used CDs for an iPhone 4. Okay, why not? I was always answered courteously both on the phone and through any email correspondance. iPodmeister kept me informed and up to date regarding all the steps in the process, when they received them, when they checked them, when they were sending out my iPhone 4 check, etc. I wish more businesses were as good with their customers as iPodmeister is. The free shipping was a bonus. These guys come highly recommended. Before trying to sell your used discs at a pawn shop you should give these guys a try.

I've recently "gone green" and went through my house looking for ways to reduce and reuse clutter. I came across this posting on The Daily Green News Blog on yahoo. I could just sell the used cds at a store in the Village but I really loved the fact that my cds get shipped to people in other countries, countries that might not get latest iPods or mP3 players, or there's not even a home computer! I hated the thought of dropping them in the garbage, the waste would be immense. We packed everything up in some boxes we got from the local grocery store (keep reusing!) and sent them off to iPodmeister with the knowledge we were doing something good for the environment (while getting a free iPod, great for a birthday gift). I think all in all we sent in about 750 cds, around that number. Can you imagine all that plastic in our landfills? *Shudder* Well, the folks at iPodmeister went through all of them, and said we were about 200 cds over what we needed to send in to get the iPod, and asked of we wanted to upgrade to another iPod or cash. We ended up opting for the original iPod and a check for the rest. Enough to buy that solar power battery charger Ive had my eye on! Long story short, I was very pleased with my experience at iPodmeister. Stay green!

I really can't say enough NICE things about these guys. IPODMEISTER is WONDERFUL! I was so GRATEFUL to have found them and was able to trade my CDs and DVDs for an IPOD. Raising 2 kids ALONE is hard enough, but when your oldest comes home CRYING because he doesn't have one, you want to do ANYTHING to make him happy and we just didnt have the CASH for an IPOD. Now we have a NEW ipod, my kid is happy and I'm happy! I thought the service was GREAT and FAST. I got the ipod within 1 WEEK after shipping all my stuff (which was FREE). The girls I spoke to were so sweet and PATIENT with all my questions.
