It's about YOU, not THEM., 5/30/2011

I have been with LA for almost a year, and I joined the club after calling around a bit to get the best initiation FEE lower than had been initially offered by one of their sales reps. I waived my... FREE 30 min consultation as I had no intention of someone telling what I did or did NOT need. The parking lot appears always full in the AM so I don't bother going in. It's also very packed on Monday night; a lot of peeps taking classes too. I use the gym for mainly cardio at first, and NO I had no clue as to how any of the machines work, but SO WHAT. It doesn't take long playing with it to get something going, and you can always ask the person next to you for help. If you are timid and feel the need to have someone hold your hand, then don't bother with this place as the staff is too busy trying to make money at the door with NEW walk-ins. It would be nice to see this location operate 24 hours so I could avoid all the parents who use LA as a day care as well (free day care). I am a single guy that just wants to get and and get out within 2 hours. Anyway, I think I paid 75 for my initiation dues plus 30 a month with free quest for a total start up $105.00 paid with my PayPal debit card so they can't get into my checking account if something were to go south! The place is fairly clean, open, lots of breathing room unlike that 24 hour fitness with the low ceiling hight. LA could make it a little cooler up stairs for cardio work, but I suppose the extra sweat won't hurt.

Poor Service, 2/18/2009

As an older citizen getting back into the swing of things at the gym, I was looking for some help with the equipment. Instead I was sent to try out the machines on my own, which was very... intimidating and a waste of my time. They were very disorganized, kept saying I'd missed my appointment when they had already talked to me for my assessment. My bar code was wrong and that all had to be changed also. I kept saying I wasn't ready to pay for a personal trainer and Sharon was extremely pushy about that. She finally gave up asking me in a very rude way. I quit to go to Fit Sisters and it is all very positive.
