Drs. Caroline and Andrew Dott have been practicing together for 25 years. The team of a Psychotherapist (Caroline) and Ob-Gyn (Andrew) offers unique opportunities for women to obtain assistance with both medical and/or behavioral problems using a team approach. Our care starts with young women seeking education and care about such common problems such as contraception and STD counselling. As these women mature into their twenties and thirties, common problems include pregnancy care (Dr Dott has delivered over 6000 babies), well women services and assisting with problems dealing with relationships such as marriage, boyfriends, occupational choices, and workplace issues. Gynecological problems requiring surgery unfortunately become more common in the thirties and forties. Dr A. Dott was trained in one of the busiest surgical hospitals in the United States, has taught advanced surgical techniques both in the US and Europe, and now operates in the finest women's hospital in Atlanta (Northside). He is fully trained in hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, advanced pelvic reconstructive surgery as well as general gynecology. The forties also becomes a time for the beginnings of hormone problems which ultimately lead to menopause. Dr. A. Dott is fully trained to help you with complex hormone management problems. Dr. C. Dott wrote her doctoral disseration on Behavioral Problems associated with Difficult and Complex Menopause Transitions and has specialized in helping women going through difficult behavioral times which may be related to exaggerated responses to hormone shifts. This commonly leads to Pre-Menstrual Tension, Post Partum Depression, and Peri-Menopausal Anxiety and Depression. The fifties and sixties are the time of menopause. Gynecologically, the loss of estrogen commonly causes sexual, urinary, and orthopedic problems. Behaviorally, the menopause transition is a challenge for many women who are also confronted with "empty nest transitions" and caring for aging parents. Drs. Caroline and Andrew Dott, practicing as Riverbend Ob-Gyn and Counseling, are prepared to help women through the transitions of life journeys through education, counseling, medical and well woman care, obstetrical services, and gynecological surgery.
