LET YOUR DOG JOIN US FOR SOME GOOD, CLEAN FUN!!
Thank you for visiting our profile! My name is Kristie Wilder and I own and operate WaterDog Kennels in Temple, GA. We are located about 35 miles west of Atlanta, right off I-20.
At WaterDog Kennels, your dog will receive premium care and have so much fun that he or she might not want to go home!
WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?
We don't have 'an office' or 'a building'. We have a HOME. And ours has been modified for the comfort and enjoyment of YOUR dog! Our property features a beautiful home setting, surrounded by lush grass, beautiful hardwood trees and an 8-acre lake.
We don?t 'go home' at the end of the day. We actually LIVE here! Your dog will live with us in and around our home, be supervised, cared for and loved 24/7.
OUR CLAIM TO FAME
Our claim to fame is our ?28 day OFF-LEASH? pet obedience training program, the only program of its kind in metro Atlanta. At the end of our training program, your dog will be able to walk with you both on and off lead, come when called in any situation and have great manners! They stay here with us to train, but you visit often to learn the training and monitor their well-being and progress. Think your dog can?t be trained?? Think again! We?ve had dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes complete our training program successfully! Why? Because it?s a combination of training, daily living and interaction. It?s not just a few minutes of sit and stay. It?s based on interaction with us and other dogs plus daily events including feeding, playtime, exercise and bedtime. Even the most difficult-to-train breeds and types of dogs do very well in our program.
WHY YOUR DOG WILL HAVE SO MUCH FUN WITH US!
Your dog will get to play three times per day, supervised in appropriate playgroups in large, grassy yards with beautiful shade trees and fresh, clear water.
Because we are primarily a training facility, we can carefully manage and supervise dogs in groups so they get the exercise, attention and playtime they need to keep them happy and relaxed. As I type, there are 30 dogs sleeping peacefully soaking up the sun on a cool spring day. If you were here with me, you?d never know there was a dog anywhere on the property!
Occasionally, we do have a dog that, for whatever reason, would rather play or hang out with just us and that?s fine. We accommodate all types of dogs with one exception: aggression. We will not board dogs with any temperament issues that could result in your dog, anybody else?s dog or us getting hurt.
We carefully introduce new, unfamiliar dogs to the activity at our house and around the kennels. Your dog will be gently acclimated to their new environment. As we get to know your dog, usually over one to three days on average, we will introduce them to similar dogs and work them into the group playtimes. If your dog is timid or over-excited, they can still do very well in playgroups with our guidance. Dogs with behavior issues often benefit greatly from their stays with us!
SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS
Your dog will receive 24-hour care while they are here with us. All of our doggie guests sleep inside at night and during any inclement weather (excessive heat/cold, storms, rain, any watches or warnings). Daytime, in between play sessions, they are in clean, cozy outdoor kennel runs where they nap peacefully because they are so sleepy from playtime. Each kennel provides your dog with a bed, fresh, clear water, clean air and sunshine (and plenty of shade on hot days!).
One of the things we love most about our facility and the dogs we care for is that neither stinks! We have very strict policies for housekeeping and maintenance. All waste is removed routinely. All buckets, beds and bedding are sanitized to keep them looking and smelling fresh and clean. The outdoor, open air kennel runs provide a nice breeze off the lake, while letting in plenty of sunshine. Both of these, in addition to our cleaning procedures, keep your dog and his living areas fresh and odor-free! And to top it all off, we will bathe your dog prior to pickup. So when you arrive, you will have all of your dog?s belongings and your fresh, clean dog waiting for you!
A LITTLE BIT OF HOME
We invite you to bring your dog's own crate and bedding. And we ask that you provide your dog's own food so that they don't get an upset tummy. You are also welcome to bring any toys or treats that you'd like your dog to have while he or she is here.
THE FINE PRINT
Our standard rate is $22/day with discounts for multiple pets, extended stays and pets that have been through our training programs.
My husband was a veterinarian prior his untimely passing. As a result, my staff and I are very experienced in pet care, nutrition and first aid.
We are fully licensed and insured. And dogs have been having good, clean fun here since 1996!
