Mountain Pet Resort is located approximately one hour north of Atlanta just off scenic highway I-985/365. We are a short drive from Lake Lanier, Lake Burton, Lake Rabun, Helen, Highlands,N.C., and the Chattahoochee National Forest. From Atlanta : Take I-85 north to I-985 north. North of Gainesville I-985 turns into Hwy. 365. (you do not have to make any turns). Go to the 3rd red-light (Duncan Bridge Rd.) & turn right. Follow it until you come to the END of the road. There will be grain mills in front of you . Turn right. Then make your first left onto Apple Pie Ridge. After you go a short distance you will cross a railroad track. About a car length past the tracks you turn right onto Nix Road. Mountain Pet Resort is six tenths of a mile down on the left. You will see our sign. Come on down the drive & you will find us. We offer a pick-up/drop off service to the north Atlanta area. Mountain Pet Resort has large indoor/outdoor climate controlled runs. There are seven exercise yards surrounded by six foot chain link fencing for security. We have video/audio surveillance located throughout the facility so that all pets can be monitored 24 hours a day from either the office or our home which is located near the kennel. While staying at Mountain Pet Resort all dogs are exercised individually four times a day. We begin at 7 AM and the last exercise time is at 10 PM in an endeavor to keep pets on a regular house training schedule. Dogs are fed twice daily. We will feed our food or you are welcome to bring your own. We also dispense medications or do any necessary treatments. Special care and accommodations are provided for elderly dogs or dogs with special needs. There is no additional charge for any of these services. There is a veterinarian on call 24 hours a day. Mountain Pet Resort strives to maintain a clean safe environment. All pets should be current on vaccinations. Dogs must have DHLP-P & rabies within the last 12 months. Bordetella has to be boosted every 6 months. Cats must have FVRCP, FeLV combo, & rabies within the last 12 months. We require you to bring documentation of the vaccinations from your veterinarian. Anyone interested in boarding is encouraged to drop in at any time for a tour. No appointment is necessary. Mountain Pet Resort has a wonderful training program available. It is designed for the household pet so you and your dog can cohabitate more comfortably. House training including litter box training is also available. Please call for more detailed information.
