Amazing service and support
I own an Akita. Mark and his staff were a pleasure to work with. I've taken two classes with CPT, and look forward to my next one! Mark has even made himself available to me for follow up issues and questions. Highly recommend!!

A Dream Come True
I have a miniature schnauzer that I knew from the time I adopted him at 12 weeks old that he was not your typical schnauzer. Shadow has an amazing amount of love and compassion and he is ever so gentle. I decided to take him to CPT to learn basic and intermediate obedience skills so that he could pass a pet therapy test in order to go to facilities where he could share his love. I met Karen and knew right away that with her dedication and compassion for all animals that Shadow would learn how to pass the therapy test. Karen's knowledge and expertise are beyond what I would have ever expected. She stays past the class time to answer individual questions and devotes her time and energy to all of the animals and owners. It is remarkable the amount of growth I have witnessed in all of the dogs in the class, not just Shadow. Needless to say Shadow DID pass the therapy test. I give great thanks and credit to Karen and her devotion to animal training. I would take any class that Karen would offer.

Great place to get basic training
We needed somewhere to take our pup for basic obedience training -- to learn the essential doggie commands such as “sit”, “down”, “stay”. CPT turned out to have classes at convenient times and they limit their class size to ensure personal attention for all members of the group. The trainer (Andrea) clearly was very good at what she does. She ran the classes in an enthusiastic and friendly manner that soon had pups and owners communicating with each other. The class met for 8 weeks – which was about right for the basics -- and each class came with homework that helped reinforce commands that had been learned in previous weeks. All the sessions were very relaxed and Andrea kept the classes fun. To me, the most useful part of the experience was that it gave owners a framework for thinking about how to communicate with and train a dog. I’d read several books on the subject and had began to implement some of the commands prior to the CPT classes, but having Andrea tell and show us how to work with a dog was well worth the price of admission.

Loved CPT!
My kids and I had such a good experience with our trainer, Karen. She's encouraging and cleara really neat person who learned all the dogs and owners' names and left us feeling like we were in the competent hands of a professional. Incredibly patient and specific in her instruction. Great experience for our whole family!

Worked miracles for my dogs
I have taken two of my dogs to CPT for basic and intermediate training. Both are now well behaved members of the family.

As long as this company is in business and I continue to have dogs in the family, each will be trained at CPT.

"Can't get enough of CPT"
A friend recommended CPT for help with our young pit bull mix named Belle. Immediately after rescuing Belle we realized we had some major work to do! We started with Beginner Obedience class, then moved on to the Intermediate Obedience Class and now are signing up for Agility Class! We have also done the board training with Melissa and an in home private lesson with Mark on dog aggression. As you can see I can't get enough of CPT! I am so lucky to have found this group of trainers as they have vastly improved the behavior of my dog. Having her know the basic commands has done wonders.we now speak the same language! She loves to be challenged and loves the personal attention. I love it because she respects me as her leader and that affects how she walks on a leash to how she treats our cat and our young son. She is also making progress with her dog aggression issues thanks to Mark's practical training exercises that I can now do on my own. Our bond has grow significantly in that last few months. The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and give you real life training tools. I now recommend CPT to all my fellow dog lovers!
Give them a shot.you won't be sorry.

Kelly and Belle

Terrible
I sent my happy, playful, loving but disobedient puppy for board training. $1500 and 3 weeks later I got a shy, afraid of people dog that had her ribs showing when I picked her up. I took her straight to the vet. Oh, but she knows how to sit now. Do not use.

CPT hires top quality talent into our apprentice program. Then, CPT diligently prepares apprentices to become the best pet trainers in the industry. Our astute human resources and apprentice training protocols have created a staff that includes a national champion, a multi-time national placement winner, a regional champion, a former television “pet expert,” persons who have trained dogs for movies and commercials, and numerous competition title holders. Moreover, the aforementioned individuals have achieved the preceding accomplishments while emphasizing highly positive, motivational training methodologies. Furthermore, we encourage prospective clients to observe our group class and board training instructors in action to evaluate firsthand the methodologies we employ and the results we obtain.

Since 1992, CPT has established a standard of excellence that is unequalled amongst pet training companies in the Atlanta area. Consequently, we will not tolerate a staff member improperly training or mishandling a board training animal.

In the last 18 months, I know of only one complaint regarding our board training program. In that case, we retrained the animal with another CPT trainer and ultimately satisfied the client’s goals and objectives. In addition, CPT management addressed the malfeasance of the first trainer. To my knowledge, subsequent client dissatisfaction has not occurred.

If this review is legitimate, I encourage the author to contact me personally, so that I may make amends for the prior experience, properly train your pet, and provide you value for the money you allotted. In addition, I will address the circumstances internally from a management perspective to ensure that there is no recurrence suffered by a future human or canine client. I will even forgive your juvenile, though somewhat humorous, e-mail handle. Mark Spivak- CPT Owner and Head Trainer.

Fearful, aggresive dog to friendly friend
Our sweet, friendly dog was teased and tormented by a teenager when I left him in the car for a few minutes. When I came out I caught this kid in the act of scary our dog so much that he had left anal excretions in the car. He went from trusting everyone to being aggressive to everyone and scared of any quick moves. We were in classes at CPT and one of the instructors suggested that we have a training session with Mark. In one session he gave me the tools to work with my dog. He set up scenarios right there in the office to show me what to do in different situations! With these new tools I worked with my dog and gave him his confidence back and he has a happy face once again! I have always had dogs, even though I tried to fix our problem, nothing I did seemed to work. I was really worried. I am so delighted that I took the class with Mark. We have been in 3 different types of classes at CPT and all of the instructors are professional, have patience and completely use positive reinforcement. We are taking an agility class now and are having so much fun! We will continue taking classes if nothing else for fun and socialization! Never could have done this without Mark and his staff!

Worth every penny!
I signed up for in home training with Mark after my two year old lab was exhibiting unwanted dominant behaviors that were out of control. The turnaround I have seen in my dog since the training is phenomenal. He's easier to walk, listens to me, and is all around a much happier dog. Yes, there is still lots to work on, but Mark truly helped me find new ways to effectively communicate with my dog and did so in a manner that was easy to understand and didn't make me feel defensive. The difference in my dog brings tears of joy to my eyes making this money spent on private in home training worth every penny!
