My wife and I had our legal documents prepared by Personal Legal Plans, off Dunwoody Road, a couple of months ago. The person that came out to our home was very imformative and he explained the difference between having wills prepared and having a living trust prepared. After we made a phone call to the attorneys, we decided on a plan that had a "childrens trust" provision for our family. We went into the office to sign our documents and we were impressed with their service and attention to detail (we spoke to a lady named Martha). They told us that we have a year to make changes to our documents, without cost, one year of tax prep services and one year for legal advice, from their attorneys (in another location in Atlanta). I have since spoken to the law firm twice and I have found them to be helpful.

My experience with this organization was less than favorable. It appears to be designed to bring you in with the $99 will and then up-sell you to the much more expensive trust by salespeople that are more interested in their bonus than in your best interests. I was told a trust was the ONLY way I could be protected only to later find out that a less expensive will would have been just as acceptable. I was also told that the free legal advice and changes to the document were "free for life" with the trust plan, which is not the case. You find out once you are into it that you only get a limited time frame for free and then you must pay monthly to retain the service. It sounds like a huge deal, but it really isn't.

This program is designed for the married couple with a couple of kids or two who need to do nothing more than leave everything to their kids and assign guardians for them should they both die together, since everything automatically goes to the living spouse should one of them die first.

They are not attorneys but create mass documents that are a "one-size-fits-all" and sign the documents as though they have been prepared by an attorney. I am sure they are legal but they are not what MOST people need to protect themselves.

I got my taxes done with Bill Lang. He was very sufficient and quick. He answered all the questions I had with no problem and no hidden charges!

We have used Personal Legal for years. This is a great deal and they always perform beyond the call of duty.
