We just finished receiving a home loan from Amerisave. I certainly would not recommend them! The communication is horrible. In the end the loan got done, but we were a week late closing, even though they initially said we would be able to close a week early. Would recommend working with a lender that you can contact locally, not rely on telephone/internet communication. If you do deal with these clowns, I highly recommend contacting the customer service dept. if you run into any trouble! That seemed to help. Also, we had to threaten to use a different lender before things got done Don't use these guys!!

The AmeriSave website initially offers you incredible rates; you fill out the application based on the initial promise only to discover that they raise their rates, quite drastically, at the end, even with my excellent credit score. No better than any other mortgage lender. Only better deception.

I was looking to refinace aour mortgage and decided to use Amerisave after studying their website. Their website is very user friendly. The whole application is completed on-line and the loan process can be easily traced on their secire website. The staff is knowledgeable and very accessible. I found the interest rates to be low and they saved me money on the closing costs. They handled everything for me and made the whole process totally painless.

Initially approved for a loan on my personal residence, where I have over 60% equity even after the meltdown. Unfortunately, I have several rental properties, which are 100% on time and fully disclosed during my application. The loan was turned down, which is no problem. My issue is that after repeated emails and phone calls to my councilor they never had the decency to notify me of this. I guess I lost my $35 for credit, which is no big deal, but the lack of communication over the past three weeks has an opportunity cost of .5% which is how much the rates rose in the incommunicado phase. I had to trick my councilor into answering the phone by calling the corporate office and being transferred. Great customer service! They ordered the appraisal - hope I don't end up eating those costs.
bottom line - is be careful and call daily.

My experience with Amerisave has been pleesant. They have the best pricing structure but you have to willing to have an appraisal first to lock the rate. In this economic environment, it makes sense. I don't require a lot of hand-holding so I enjoyed the technology approach to processing a loan and updating the customer of their status. They provide contact numbers if you'd like to talk to a human. They saved me $3k.

I have been looking to refinance for 2 years. I had an adjustable rate and was aware it would increase. I signed up for Amerisave rate drop emails. A year later, I started getting emails that the rates had dropped. After 3 days of these, I looked into it. I was amazed that I could lock in for 15 years at my current rate and only pay $400. I looked into the company on the Better Business Bureau. They had some complaints, but a reasonable amount considering the size of the company (1500 employees) and length of time in business (7 years). I also called and was surprised how easy it was to get through to a live person. They verified that the rates were accurate. I applied online in about 10-15 min. I instantly received an email saying that they had received my application and verified the rate and closing costs. I several others shortly after with a clear description of all the documents they needed from me and the fax number, a link to a site where I could check the status of my loan at any time, PDF documents to print and sign, including the Good Faith Estimate which accurately reflected the charges/closing costs that I had first seen when I applied online, and information on my scheduled appraisal - day, time, appraiser name and phone number. The appraiser came 2 days later and all went smooth. It is now 8 days after applying and I am just waiting for the loan to be processed and closed. So far, this process has has been the easiest loan situation I have had.

After getting burned badly by another brokerage, I wanted to be completely informed and involved in this attempt to refinance, and have been very pleased with Amerisave. I like the online tables which allow me to compare a variety of loan scenarios, and my broker (Hyla) has given me an unbelievable wealth of information, rather than "we'll just fold the closing costs back into the loan, and you'll never notice a thing", as I've run into before. I've also felt that it has been an easy process, so although I haven't actually closed yet, I'm very happy so far.
