Awesome
Dr. Tate's care for his patients is evident the very first time you meet him. He doesn't rush through visits (like every other doctor does) and makes you feel so comfortable about asking questions. It's easy to see that he truly loves his job! People are complaining about the wait time, well, if you don't like it go to a different OB/GYN where you are just a number in their day and don't make you feel cared for at all. Oh I could go on and on about Dr. Tate and I have only been twice :) Disregard the bad reviews about the way an office looks (how superficial can a grown woman be?) and just go to meet Dr. Tate (expect a wait though!)!!!

Long wait - but well worth it
Ok....so the office hasn't been decorated since the 80s and it took me over 3 hrs from my appointment time to when I finally finished, but let's look at what's really important: excellent care, concern and a good bedside manner. From the moment you walk in you feel like a patient who's been there for years, not a number. Dr. Tate is friendly, knowledgable and extremely thorough. The staff (some of which are his family members) are happy and you can tell they actually want to be at work. I've been to the fancy, upscale offices and doctors. I'd rather have this.

3.5 Hour Wait
On my first and only visit to Dr. Tate, I had to wait three and a half hours before being seen. I arrived on time for my appointment in an old run down office. After an hour, I asked when I should expect to be seen. I was told that it would be a little while longer. I could hardly believe I was still waiting after two hours, and after talking to other patients, I learned that VERY long waits are fairly common/normal. Another woman had been in the office since nine a.m., and she was still there when I left after 6:00 p.m. The staff finally took me into a room only after I said, I had to leave to take my husband to the airport. Although Tate was nice and knowledgeable, I don't appreciate wasting so much time or energy - especially when I had a scheduled appointment. I won't be back.

BEST OB/GYN IN THE WORLD!!!!!
Where shall I began, well in May 2005 I delivered a 7lb 11oz baby via c-secion by a different OB/GYN. That c-section was uncalled for. After going through all the labor pain, my progress slowed down at 6cm. I told the doctor that I was uncomfortable. He told me would u like a c-section or would u like to wait. Without thinking I said c-section. That was my first baby. Of course I didn't know what I was getting myself into. And he was so into it. He didn't even ask twice. He didn't encourage me to try a little longer. He was indeed money hungry. After that whold ordeal was over. I became pregnant in the summer of last year (07). I was so afraid because I didnt not want to have another c-section. I found Dr. Tate through a friend and she told me he is known for his VBACS. I said I might as well give him a shot. When I had my first appointment I had a little meeting with him. I never sat down with ANY doctor like that before. From that point on I saw that he was passionate about his work. I was so comfortable with him. He didn't beat around the bush. He encourage me the whole time I was delivering and thanks to him I delivered a 8lb 3oz baby girl on Jan. 23rd. If you want a VBAC, Dr. Tate is the one for you. Im not planning on any more babies, but if I happen to become pregnant again, you better believe Dr. Tate will be my doctor. I dont care if I move out of state. I will come back to GA just for him. I love you Dr. Tate. Thank You SOOOOOO MUCH!

A Doctor Who Really Cares-YES REALLY
I have been fortunate to have Dr Tate as my doctor for the past 11 1/2 years. To have a doctor treat you like you and your baby are the most important things in the world is not seen or heard of ever. Dr. Tate listens to his patients, truly listens. Whethter it was needing an epidural during one delivery or dealing with post partum depression Dr. Tate responded to my needs like no other doctor I've dealt with before. Dr. Tate not only takes good care of me but he also has been so helpful in addressing my husband's concerns and fears. My whole family is so thankful to Dr. Tate and all he has done for us.

Same Ole Stuff
Obviously I don't have a popular opinion, but I just want it known. Dr. Tate recently delivered my baby and I was not at all happy. Yes he will sit down and listen. Yes he will talk for hours. And I thought that was all great. But it's only good as long as you agree with him. If you disagree with what he is saying or what he wants to do. He doesn't care. My birth experience was horrible, but I do have a healthy baby, and that's all that matters, right?

Doc Trules!
I was recommended by a support group to Dr Tate b/c I wanted a VBAC. The office is small and friendly, you feel like family when you're there. Doc T never rushes through appointments- he truly cares for and about his patients. My successful VBAC delivery was a wonderful experience b/c of Dr Tate!

I found Dr. Tate on Kudzu a few weeks ago and made an appointment because I was looking for a Dr. in my area. My appt. was unlike any other Dr.'s appt. I have ever had and who likes to go to the Gynecologist? : ) Dr. Tate's wife was there to greet me in the front office. I really enjoyed talking with him and his wife and the staff and the other patients that were there at the time of my visit. It was like going to visit family! Dr. Tate was very professional and even though he had been up all night delivering 3 babies he still took the time to sit down with me and get to know me and talk to me about my health. His practice is a huge asset to our community! I like many people generally do not like to go to the yearly appt. but if you have to, I would rather go and see him and his practice because they have a very caring atmosphere and take the time to make sure all your questions are answered. Phenomenal!
I had a natural child birth with Dr. Tate. I cannot recommend him enough. He is very attentive and personable (and funny!), and treats his patients like they are smart and partners in their health care. While the wait at the office can be long (bring snacks!), it's absolutely worth it. He is incredibly committed to good women's health care.
