Good, honest service
We had 4 HVAC companies out over 2yr period. None could fix our unit and 2 actually lied about problems and charged us for things that did not need repair. Finally found Holtkamp. They fixed our A/C in no time and did not use the opportunity to over-charge or sell things we did not need. They were prompt - 930am appt. - 928am arrival, neat - took all trash with them - and went above the call of duty by looking at other problems we have (and would have had in the future) that were caused by other incompetent HVAC companies. We would recommend this company to anyone!

Good service - I will call them back
Had a unit freezing up. Wasn't happy with a company I used last year. I called Holtkamp. The office called me and said the tech was on his way. I got held up and expected the tech to leave. He waited on me to arrive. He was very professional and courteous. I could tell he knew what he was doing and explained stuff to me on a level I could understand. He got me up and running. I haven't had a problem since! Great service. I would recommend this company to any of my friends!

Great people, great service
A dead airconditioner in Georgia in July is not a pleasant experience - fortunately dealing with Holtkamp was. Wonderful, professional people, great service, and cool cool air. I highly recommend this firm.

Great Service
"Ray" is my hero ! 4 th of July my A/C started to leak. Sat at 7 AM I called Holtcamp Heating and AC. By 7:15 Ray called me back and agreed to come by around noon. He called again at 11:30 and was at my door at 12:15. (35miles from his place of business to Buckhead) He quickly diagnosed and fixed my A/C. I highly recommend him, he was curteous, knowledgeable and on time. It does not get any better. Thanks again, Ray

Very Impressed !
It's too easy for some companies out there to literally take advantage of you. I read the reviews and chose to call Holtkamp and talked to the very friendly lady who answered. The next day Matt showed up (on time) and within 5 minutes found the problem. He was professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. The price was very reasonable as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone and everyone. Thanks Holtkamp !

Best of The Best!
This is a very compassionate company! Highly recommended!! Just wanted to finally send a “Big Thank You” to everyone at Holtkamp for getting me through the first freeze of the 2007 winter season. Thanks to Matt for explaining the dangers of operating my old heating unit. To Diane for getting me on the roster so quickly in order to beat the freeze. To Joey for working from early afternoon until after 9:00 PM Friday night to correct the mess made by my builder; and for coming back early Saturday morning to complete the installation of the new unit. To Matthew for dropping by to check on the entire situation. And last but not least, Dustan. Thanks for taking the time to come out more than once to explain everything in a way that I was sure to understand.

The BEST AC/Heating repair!!
I can't say enough good things about this company! This is the second time I've used them (two different AC units)-- the first time some critters had chewed thru some control wires (an unethical company might have told me I needed a new unit, or some such.) Technician replaced the wires, and that was that. This time (on the OTHER AC unit) a contactor had failed--again, the technician was 'straight up' not trying to pad the bill. They have always been courteous and professional, and PUNCTUAL. No "9-to-3 window" waiting for some loser to show up.The company said the tech would be there at 3---2:50 I get a knock on the door. Also, what I like, is IN both instances the techs took the time tell me what they were going to do, and the costs (no suprises!) Save your self some hassles---call these guys first!

Bad Service
Technician did not have his EPA 608 cert. I.D. The tech. was only interested in charging $264.85 for 3 pounds of R22 to recharge a AC system. The technician was only interested in setting up a salesman to come to our home and sell us a new HVAC system for thousands of dollars. (Heres the skinny) R22 cost is apx. $8.00 per pound. Mr. Holtkamp say this price includes labor.But, not the service call of $79.00. Lets think about this, if Mr. Holtskamp (The owner of Holtkamp HVAc of Buford Georgia) charged a 100% mark up on R-22 refrignant, oh heck lets say 200% up charge, 24 dollars a pound, and labor. of $100.00 an hour this would be $124.00 for refregant and 1 hour of labor for which his tech was in my home. Now to be fair lets add a service call of $79.00 now we are up to $203.00. Which to me would be very fair. Now real world he just charged me $421.40 for the exact same thing. Consumers stay away all he wants to do is to scare you into a NEW Train HVAC system.

Since 1992 all technicians working on refrigeration systems require an EPA licence. Our suppliers of refrigerant keep these certifications on file for each individual. Technicians customarily do not carry them around after they have registered with these local supply houses. Personally, I couldn't tell you where mine is. I would have to call the EPA to get a copy. I have made arrangements with "Expresso" to send him a copy of this technicians EPA card. As far as the charges, all of our prices include material, labor, and taxes. The first pound of refrigerant includes searching for a leak. (Air Conditioning systems are not supposed to need refrigerant except when initially installed) Most companies charge over $250.00 for this and then say that finding the leak is not guaranteed. Customers usually will opt to just add freon, which then guarantees the company that they have a captive customer for years to come. We do not do that. We look for the leak as part of adding refrigerant, which then empowers the customer to make an educated decision on what to do. In order to give our customers time to think, we many times will add refrigerant so that they will have air conditioning for the short term, and apply the charges to whatever repair/replacement chosen. I am sorry for not meeting this customers expectations, but the policies I have put in place are there to grow our business by doing the right thing. We may not be perfect, but know that you are dealing with an honest company who will make it right if there is ever a dispute. Matthew Holtkamp

Happy Customers
We were very impressed with the service we received from Holtkamp on replacing our broken A/C with a heat pump. The ladies who did the scheduling were very nice and answered even after hours. Dustan provided us with a fair and thorough quote. Matthew (the owner of the company) came out to do the job. He was courteous and took the time to explain everything that he did for us. Everyone went way beyond our expectations!

Prompt & Courteous
What can I say. Exactly on time ( called a half hour early to confirm). Courteous, friendly, and professional. I was looking for an HVAC company, that I could depend on, and have found it in Holtkamp HVAC. Thanks to Charles (technician)and Caren, I will continue to use Holtkamp as my annual service supplier.
