Waterdog Kennels

I cannot speak highly enough of Waterdog Kennels. I had always hated boarding my lab mix Sassy. Even if I felt like she would be safe, I knew she hated it. After talking to Kristie and reading the reviews here I felt pretty comfortable. Kristie even put me in touch with a member of her staff that was willing to stop by my house and check on my cat while I was gone. The thing that did it for me though was how happy Sassy was when I picked her up and not just to see me!

Since then my dog family has grown to 3 (all highly active, young dogs) and I have had the same experience. Three tired and happy dogs.

I have recommended Waterdog to others and have heard nothing but great things back from my friends. Give Kristie and Andrew a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Really knowledgeable, helpful and nice to work with. They trained two dogs for us, and I'd recommend them to anyone.

Well - we were going to wait at least a week after Kate (our German Shorthaired Pointer) had returned home from her month long training with Kristie before writing a review. However, we decided we needed to let folks know as soon as possible about the "magic" Kristie worked on Kate.

Walks through the neighborhood are now a joy, rather than hard work. Not only does Kate stay by our side (on leash - but totally slack) - but she stays there even when tempted by distractions - such as the bunny who went hopping by. Going in the backyard or for walks along our green space - with no leash - perfect! In the house - she's calm - and greets my hubby when he comes home with enthusiasm - but no jumping or peeing.

Next test was having our daughter and family for dinner. They received a nice greeting from Kate - and she laid by my side while we ate dinner (even though our 18 month old grandson tempted her with tasty tidbits that "fell" from his highchair.

Every day we are so amazed - we can't help but wonder when this "magic pill" is going to wear off. But - we know it won't - as long as we keep up the good work that Kristie started.

I debated for a long time about where and who would be the professional trainer for my chocolate lab. With the advice from a friend, I chose Kristie Wilder at Waterdog Kennels. Kristie has taken my friends dog, Newt, to a level that most dogs and owners dream about. Newt is a Master Hunter and in the AKC Hall of Fame. My wife and I agree that this was the best money we have EVER spent. From boarding, to training, to handling the dogs in competition, Kristie is just the best there is out there. My dog Cody just completed his AKC Senior Hunter title thanks to Kristie, and Cody thinks Waterdog Kennels is his second home. I was sent to Korea for a 12 month tour of duty and unfortunately I could not find a sitter for my dogs (Lab and Husky). A friend recommended Waterdog Kennels, so I decided to give them a call. Kristie and Drew basically bent over backwards to help me out. I am indebted to their services. I know my dogs are in good hands! I can't wait to finally get them shipped to Hawai'i. Aloha!

Our dog loves going to Waterdogs when we have to go out of town. The facility has both indoor and outdoor kennels, and several huge fenced play yards where the dogs play under supervision several times a day. Our dog is always exhausted and happy when he finishes a session at Waterdogs. I am so grateful that there is a place that I feel so comfortable leaving my precious pooch when I have to be out of town for a short or long duration. Kristie and her staff are incredibly attentive and facilitate a fun, safe environment for the dogs. Our dog always seems so excited to go to Waterdogs, and he always seems like he would love to stay longer when we come to pick him up.

We have also used Waterdogs for training with fabulous results. Kristie is awesome.

Altogether, we are so grateful that Waterdogs is available to us. It truly is doggie paradise.

It is about 45 minutes drive from Atlanta and well worth it. The cost is half of what the intown services cost, but the dogs get so much more than the restrictive kennels in town.

Our Labradoodle Hudson spent a week at Waterdog Kennels last month and we were extremely pleased. Kristie and her staff are wonderful and you can tell they really love the dogs! I've already booked Hudson's next two vacations at Waterdog Kennels and will never board him anywhere else again.

It has been less than 24 hours since we’ve pick up our dog from his training program at Waterdog Kennels, and we are amazed how much more attentive, respectful and calmer he has become. If you’ve seen the movie Marley & Me, our Trooper was definitely a Marley. He continually jumped at us, barked and snapped when he wanted attention, and walking him was more of a chore than a pleasure. We were relived when we returned from our walks, not only because that chore was completed, but all body parts were in tack and we did not dislocate a shoulder or arm. Advil was our drug of choice after our ½ mile speed jog. Yesterday we enjoyed both on lease walking, as Trooper calmly stayed by our left side, and we are extremely excited with the ability to stroll with Trooper off collar through our own fenceless yard, and he strolled with us, and came when called. Kristie is a remarkable trainer; we enjoyed her technique and her interaction with our pet. One thing I continually watched for was the interaction between Trooper, with Kristie & Drew when we were all together, and it warmed my heart that even though we were visiting Trooper during his training, he also continued to play and show excitement towards Drew and Kristie, which tells me they gave him structure, but love as well. He was in good hands, and I never felt he was mistreated. Besides their training program, Waterdog Kennels also boards pets, and as long as we have Trooper he will be boarded at Waterdog Kennels.

I had my 6 month old Lab mix puppy Lucky (now 9 years old) trained by Kristy in 2000. This is without a doubt a premiere facility and Kristy is very knowledgeable and caring. They treated my dog like one of their own. We also boarded Lucky with them numerous times while we were out of town. We never had to worry because we knew our dog was getting excellent care. I would HIGHLY recommend Waterdog Kennels to anyone looking for obedience training for their dog. You will not be disappointed.

I have an American bulldog that I got when I was working at Waterdog, he will be 4yrs old in April and I get compliments all the time about how well he listens and how well behaved he is. I give all the credit to Kristie and her teachings. Rocky LOVES boarding at Waterdog whenever I go out of town, and now Rocky's little brother Cane LOVES staying there too and is about to go through the off leash training himself. Both of my "powerhouses" love it. I have nothing but pure confidence and trust leaving both of my dogs at Waterdog, and I won't board anywhere else. I tell everyone who asks me where they should board their dogs, Waterdog Kennels, there's not a greater place for any breed of dog to stay.
