Dr. Peter d'Aubermont

I was referred to Dr. Peter d'Aubermont by Dr. Kenneth Neufeld after a small growth on my left lower eyelid was diagnosed as a basal cell carcinoma. Dr. Neufeld would be performing the reconstructive surgery following Dr. d'Aubermont removal of the skin cancer using the Mohs technique. And both surgeries had to be coordinated between two separate practices as well as two physicians. Both staffs were excellent in coordinating these efforts. Although I initially went to Dr. d'Aubermont office just to schedule my first appointment, he unexpectedly invited me into his office where I was provided with a small book on the Mohs technique followed by a very personable and educational discussion on this particular surgical procedure. Unlike most modern doctors but very similar to the old-school teaching physicians, Dr. Peter d'Aubermont provided me with an excellent education on my issue and the Mohs technique while maintaining a good sense of humor, communication, and professionalism. His behavior also proudly reflects his love for teaching; echoes an academic environment in how he interacts with his staff; and his care becomes an educational experience. I think he is a man who practices medicine for his honest devotion, empathy, and adornment of his patients. I would bet that many of his patients may consider him a true patient advocate. I was not always seen in a timely manner, but I considered this to be a small inconvenience well worth his patient-centered approach.
