hard to find a vet you trust
I've had three of my animals become very sick over the past four years. The staff at Averill took very good care of each of them... They're not inexpensive by any means but they care about their patients. And they ask about each one when I come in for other things. It's nice to see my dogs get happy when they see their favorite vet techs. Lanette, Jimmy, Dr Nelson, Dr Carrie.. you're awesome.

Great Vet!!!
We have been going to this Animal Hospital for quite a while. Dr. Nelson is awesome with our dog. He always takes time to talk with you and never makes you feel like your questions are dumb or that he does not have the time for you. I think the Animal Hospital as a whole cares as much for my pet as I do and takes exceptional care of him! I have used other vets and drive quite a ways to continue to use Averill because of their care and attention.

No Experienced Care
We no longer do business with Averill, because they use too many inexperienced vet students and interns. We have three cats, and only once did we get an actual appointment with "the" Dr Averill. Even then, I found his attitude one of "It's just another cat, just more business." He seems burned out and prefered more talking about stuff other than our cats. Because he employs so many inexperienced vet interns, they are unable to answer questions about your animals. Another negative experience we had was when we boarded our cats one Summer. The staff played bait'n switch with us. They would not say exactly what type of cages our cats would be in. The vet tech admitted that two of our cats would be in one cage, even though we were paying full price for separate cages. Also, when it comes to boarding, they play a game of how your cats must have their claws trimmed and be shampooed, before they are discharged. And of course, they overcharge you for these unnecessary services. Averill's flim-flam boarding games were the final straw with these people. We left. I Do Not recommend doing business with Averill Animal Hospital.

THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS
We love this vet. We take out dogs here and here ONLY. We tried several places and this vet is the best. They always remember our dogs by name even when we just stop in to buy pet meds. Our pets love to go here and never hesitated to run right through the door. We trust them and love doing business with them.

People who care
I have been using Dr. Averill for over 15 years. When my cat was injured on Christmas Eve his staff come in on Christmas and performed an operation to save her life. Whether I have boarded my pets or just had them in for shots the staff has been great.
