Interesting
There is a winery and vinyards. The visitor's center is a copy of a French Chateau, housing an art gallery and restaurant.

Love it
Chateau elan is a great place to escape the city and enjoy some culture. They have their own vinyard and granted the wine is not as good as France, its not bad. The food at the restaurant is very good.

International get-away without leaving the country
My wife and I spent 2 days there for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, you feel as though you've arrived in another country. It's just so different looking to be staying at a vineyard. It was very elegant and classy. Check-in was a breeze, we felt warmly welcome by the staff, and we even had a welcome letter in our bedroom that stated "Happy third anniversary". It was just the little touches that made it really nice. The beds were very comfortable with thick down comforters. The room was understatedly luxurious. Nothing really stood out but the little fine details were nice. (nothing felt cheesy) The food was fantastic. Dinner was to order but the lunches and breakfasts were buffet. There was something for everyone. The overall feeling there is just quiet and peaceful. Nothing is rushed or busy at all - just what we needed. On the first night there, they brought us a bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary. And on the 2nd night, my wife got the surprise of the rose pedals all over the bed when we returned to the room. Very nice! Also, they have an outdoor pool, a slightly warm 24hr indoor pool, and a hot tub. We took advantage of all three. The wines were not all that but we did find a bottle we liked and bought. There’s nothing I can complain about besides the price. It was very expensive for 2 days (over $800!) but I guess you have to keep the riffraff out. We’ll look out of a special next time, but we really enjoyed ourselves overall.

'Unique Spa Suites'
A few years ago, we celebrated our wedding anniversary for a night at the Inn. The manager upgraded our room to a suite in the spa. We chose the African-themed room which was beautifully decorated. The atmosphere was quiet and calm since there are only 14 uniquely decorated suites in the spa. The buffet style dinner at Versailles was excellent. We hope to visit again. Be prepared to splurge as things can get pricey!

Great weekend away
My wife and I got away for a weekend earlier this year (March) and ate dinner (Le Clos?) and spent a day at the spa. Totally enjoyed the entire experience. I was a bit surprised by a few little things with the room that could have been better - but I'm very picky in that way. The service was phenominal. We will be returning soon.

Never again!
I used to love this place, but boy has it gone downhill under new ownership. It took us 30 minutes to get drinks and 2 hours to get our food at Le Clos (our waiter acted like we didn't exist), even though the 4 of us spent almost $700 on dinner for our friends' anniversary. I complained to the management on checkout and they said they would "see what they could do" -- yeah, right. We never saw a credit on our bill, nor did we receive a letter of apology. Chateau Elan has become a "has been" striving to "wanna be" in the sticks.

Winery & Resort Experience
My fiancée and I just got back from celebrating my birthday weekend, at Chateau Elan. Upon arriving mid-afternoon, on Saturday, we opted for the 4PM winery tour. We were both far from impressed. Our tour guide was a little off and knew general information regarding the wine making process, nothing too particular to the winery itself. On to the tasting, knowing we are both casual wine drinkers, we were in total agreement that the selections were horrible. Out of the four we tasted, one was average and that's being nice. The others were just plan bad! I mean good ole homemade wine was better than this stuff. Overall, our winery experience was very sub par. Regarding the hotel stay, it was great. I suggest asking for a corner room, due to the vast size. We stayed in #2241 and really enjoyed it. With a great two person tub, refrigerator (for bubbly), and a king size bed, we made the best of it, without question. Our dinner was at The Carriage House, about 17 miles away via the hotel shuttle, which was great because we both enjoyed our bottle of wine at dinner (not Chateau Elan wine either!). We recommend the filet and Savannah Chicken. Overall, our stay was very nice. My fiancée added touches that made the weekend so memorable, which made the resort more enjoyable. We would have like to try out the spa and golf, but we didn’t have time. Don't fell like you've missed anything if you don't get in on a winery tour. You're better off not disappointing yourself. Cheers!

Excellent Service
If you ever want to be pampered, visit Chateau Elan. They are on the expensive side, but their staff and the food make up for it. This is an excellent choice for a close romantic get away.
