Great Purchase Experience
Having spent most of my business life in sales, I am familiar with the purchase experience and how it can be unpleasant or great. I can honestly say that my purchase experience at Jim Ellis Chevorlet was outstanding. The sales staff is knowledgable and capable of helping you make the right choice.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AFTER THE PURCHASE!!!
DO NOT BUY FROM JIM ELLIS!!! Hershell Marshall head of customer service is a joke. This guy couldn't satisfy a customer if his life depended on it. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I will return
The good news about JEM is that they sell reliable, unflashy cars that manage also not to be boring. (100,000 miles lifetime warranty? Sign me up.)

The service department will hook you up with a loaner for free and takes appointments, which means that you won't be sitting around for two hours while "they hook it up to the computer". But calling ahead is a must.

The bad news is that they haven't figured out that the whole car salesman schtick gets old. Dude had the cojones to say to me that the MPV he wanted to sell me was "the minivan with soul of a sportscar."

No, man, it's a minivan.

It's a good, reliable, spacious, reasonably priced minivan with some features to make the roadtrip a whole lot easier. It has nothing to do with sports cars.

Also, this dealership is pretty easy to get to from anywhere in the A, because it's pretty close to the perimeter. I'd go back.

They were great with the customer service.
I know that great service is hard to come by. So they are at the top of my list now.

Fair on the repairs
The check engine light on my 2004 Mazda MPV came on and I brought it into Jim Ellis Mazda. I had some issues with the prices and the stuff that I felt should be repaired under some Mazda recall bulletins, and they were very nice about working with Mazda corporate on coverage for recall items, and got Mazda to pay for it rather than it coming out of my pocket. They are not condescending to women (I run into that sometimes at auto repair places), and I think that I was treated well as a loyal and repeat customer. Just make sure when you need stuff repaired, you do some hunting on the internet so you know what stuff should cost. Jim Ellis is fair to an educated customer.

spend more and get less????
I had purchased a chevy from Jim Ellis
six years later a VW, then seven years later a Porsche 911. I always had taken my cars elsewear for service. My mechanic did not work on Porsche so I decided to take it to Jim Ellis, BIG MISTAKE. The service managers were to busy talking badly about celebrity customers, then listening to my issues, told me my car would be done that day, it was not and then I could not get a loaner, too late, they left me without a car for four days, then they said they could not pick me up, I'm less then 2 miles! Needless to say I had a few choice words for the manager when I arrived in a cab! I never returned, I take it to Alpharetta now. I guess they can talk poorly of me now as well as Usher and Whitney Houston. I will never again buy from Jim Ellis either!!!!

Service is an overpriced joke
OK, maybe you'll buy your car from the Salesmen up front, just save yourself the heartache and bring it somewhere else for service. The guys in back are incompetent and overpriced to boot. My car has been in four times in the past two weeks to repair "electrical" problems. The first time out the door as I inspected the vehicle I found that the problem wasn't corrected (headlights out). I left the car with them and the next day called and wanted another $106 diagnostic fee to figure out what was wrong. As I had just paid the over $400 for the repair they had JUST DONE including the $106 diagnostic fee I was ticked. After going to their non-Service Manager Allen they waived the second diagnostic fee as a courtesy. Long story short, the car has been back in twice more since then and again they every time they find something else wrong that THEY missed the first time. Two weeks and FOUR service visits is crazy. Try fixing the problem the first time. At Jim Ellis labor rates ($180 for a battery w/install) I can't afford to keep wasting my money and patience on these clowns. My VW will never be back.

Fantastic Service
Jim/Mark:

I recently purchased a new Corvette from your dealership and wish pass on to you and your staff many thanks for providing me a truly special vehicle (2007 INDY PACE CAR) . Don Campbell was instrumental in making the transaction effortless on my part which was much appretiated since I had to fly from Charleston SC to pick the car up. Don worked with me from the moment I arrived at the dealership. He assisted me in picking out accessories and getting them installed through the service department. Kalo Brantley was also extremely helpful with his thorough knowledge of the vehicle and provided me with step by step instruction on how everything functioned. My wife and I will surely enjoy this exciting automobile for many years to come. Please pass on a "job well done" to all your staff that had a hand in making April 25 2008 a memorable day.

Lemons for Tart Lemonade
Unwilling to accept responsibility for a poorly made car, bent frame. Claimed I wrecked the car. Good try boys. After one year of letter writing and discussions, which involved the General Manager, Jim Ellis and Clark Howards staff, I unloaded the car and took a large financial loss. Steer clear of this dealership and service shop.
