Run, don't walk!
I don't know how on earth this place has so many positive reviews, because my family's experience with this vet was a nightmare. It makes me wonder if they just write their own reviews, but I'm not making an assumptions. All I know is that I was met at Morningside with a very rude vet who seemed to care more about $$$ than animals!

Wonderful Staff
Donna Morris and her staff gave wonderful care to my old man (10yo Sheltie) who needed surgery. He is a shy dog and appeared to be totally comfortable with the staff and facility. I would recommend this facility to any animal owner/lover. Great experience.

Hi...
Hey, I'm looking for a vet and I began looking at MSACC's webpage. But I was concerned when I read Joe307's review. I just brushed it off, but then I came back on today and read Dr. Morris' reply to Joe307, and she just totally turned me off. She was rude to Joe and I could tell that she only cares about her reputation. I don't want someone like that to treat my animals.

Nearly KILLED my puppy
I took my dog to Morningside to get neutered, and the staff told me that they would NOT operate if bloodwork came out abnormal. After the operation, my dog seemed fine, but days later got very sick and nearly died. New vet requested records from Morningside and discovered that blood/fecal test results were abnormal BEFORE surgery. Dr. Morris later admitted that she "should not have operated" but refused to refund.

Ms Huang WOW! You brought your puppy to MACC for a neuter and by your own admission your puppy had no complication during the surgery. His pre-op bloodwork indicated an abnormality which was associated with the internal parasites (round worms) found on that morning's stool check. This in and of itself in a healthy patient with a normal physical exam, does not inhibit us from continuing with a castration surgery. We generally advise our clients prior to surgery that if the bloodwork flags an abnormality it doesn't automatically mean we can't continue with the procedure. Depending on the abnormality, we may change our initial anesthetic protocol. If severe changes are noted we may have to address those first before continuing with surgery. In this case, we had an apparent healthy pet with a normal physical despite these internal parasites typically found in such a young puppy, thereby not prohibiting us from continuing on with his surgery. As is our hospital protocol, we called to see how he was doing post op and you told us all was well, no problems! Your own Mother even tried to deter you from making these aspersions of wrong doing. Your wanting a refund for a surgery here at Morningside that went well, with no complications is not valid. Dr. Morris

Lost Our Dog!!!!
Staff (Dr. Morris) lost one of our five dogs at 8am on a Sunday which were scheduled to be kenneled there for a week. She did not contact us for 4 hours after the fact. My folks cut their vacation short and caught a redeye from PA to help me search for our dog. Staff did little to nothing in regards of physically searching despite the fact the dog was lost due to their negligence. Was unsymapthetic and unremorseful during the course of this issue. To be even more insulting, they had the audacity to hand us the bill for what they failed to accomplish, keep our pets safe.

Dear Jesperson Family.. my sincerest apologies and regret for the loss of your family member. No veterinarian looks forward to losing a patient, especially in this unfortunate and unexpected way. No one could have predicted as timid as he was that he would bolt through the bottom of our fence that was reinforced with ties after almost a week of boarding. Your son stated that we did little to nothing and waited 4 hours to contact you; well I would argue that since you were in PA at the time there was nothing in that immediate period that you could do to help us recover your pet. It seemed only logical and practical to start our search immediately to maximize your pet's recovery before calling. If by little or nothing your son means (1) calling in the staff and their family at 8 am on a Sunday morning(one of whom was on vacation). (2) Contacting Gwinnett County Animal Control (who was closed Sun & Mon) to verify that no dog fitting his description had been picked up and brought in. (3) Canvassing the surrounding neighborhood and neighbors to see if anyone had seen him. (4) Calling Home Again to activate the recovery protocol i.e. sending flyers to alert area hospitals, rescue groups and shelters for which we were shocked to find out this could not be done because you had not registered this pet with the company despite having a microchip implanted, so we had to do a temporary conversion of his information into the hospital's name. (5) placing a current picture flyer from our hospital files in and around the surrounding neighborhood with our contact information on it. (6) continuing our search till after dark and advising your family of our actions each step of the way. (7) putting out food and water just in case he returned while we were not there. Under the circumstances, I don't know what more we could have done after the fact, but I am open to suggestions. Since that time the fence has been reinforced with stainless steel bars and anchors to ensure that an incident like this will not happen again. As to the "bill" that was given to your father I would hope that you would get your facts straight and look a little more closely at the statement which clearly and fully discounted the entire cost of boarding yoor 5 dogs! there were NO charges given to your family! I deeply regret that this happened and I live with the sadness and memory of this loss every day. Dr. Morris

Worth the travel, love them!
I have taken my Lab to Morningside since her first shots and I have been more than pleased every visit! I can call anytime and ask any questions and never feel that I am bothersome. My entire family goes to a vet near my house, but I refuse to use anyone else, even though they are 20miles away. Recently my Pup was hospitalized for 2 days and I know she received the best care possible and was treated with love and respect. They didn't even mind me calling 3 times a day to check on her! Thank you Morningside!!

Great Vet Clinic by Rebecca H. at InsiderPages
I've used Morningside Animal Care Center for the last 6 years for my dog. I started going there when they were brand new because it was the only place I could find that would see my sick dog on a Saturday. I was very happy with the care I received that day and have been taking my dog there ever since. My dog has a chronic medical condition so he was seen frequently until we got it under control. Dr. Morris and her staff are very friendly and know us by name. I also use Morningside Animal Care Clinic for boarding since they know my dogs medical history. They seem to take good care of him. I would recommend this vet.

No customer service! Will refuse service !!!
This vet isn't concerned for their customers and in in no way accommodating. They contradict what there policy's are even with you having paper work, invoices, mail reminders, etc, they will add unnecessary appointments that aren't schedule to provide you with a refill for a past prescriptions, which was never discuss before. If the dollar isn't there for them they don't mine to decline your business and even threaten to have you fill out a form for them to put you on as a black list customer (will not provide service).

Dear 20thkls, have you forgotten our conversation about 3 months ago when your cat was diagnosed with diabetes. We discussed how to manage and care for a diabetic patient at length. I think that anyone even without a medical background would agree that a diabetic patient needs follow up care and monitoring especially after initial diagnosis. We are sorry you feel that this is an "excessive" request and that our hospital policy to provide your cat with the best possible care is not in line with your way of thinking. However, we will not take responsibility for your irresponsible act as we strive to do our best for our patients and clients at Morningside. In keeping with our standards we will be more than happy to provide your records to any veterinarian with whom you are more comfortable and can provide services to your satisfaction. -DM
