Renewal Design-Build

Fantastic company! Renewal did an incredible job on my house for an episode of HGTV’s new show “Curb Appeal The Block.” The work was done under very challenging weather conditions and a production schedule that defied all logic for their team, I am sure. On top of that, the team had to negotiate an extremely complicated set of facts about my house (stream buffer, flood zone, and easement) that must have been a complete nightmare for them to even get started on the project. Nonetheless, everything was done at the highest levels of quality and professionalism. Because this show was done on a TV production schedule and a tight budget, it is even more extraordinary to me the time and care they took on each detail.

Because I work from home, I was able to personally observe the care and diligence their carpenters and crew members took in executing the design provided to them by the show. I feel so fortunate that they were chosen to put the design into place because I know that my family will be able to enjoy it for years to come and it will remain solidly in place and functional and beautiful. The carpenters were so diligent that frankly I feel like I could park my minivan on the front porch and it wouldn’t budge.

The onsite project manager from Renewal, Lisa Manka, was fantastic and did a wonderful job testifying on my behalf at the variance hearing. No detail of this project was too small to get her full attention until it was perfect. Amazing group of people!

Renewal has a reputation here in Decatur for being one of the best Design/Build companies in the area. The reason folks use Renewal is because they know the job is going to be done right by a excellent, experienced team.

My bathroom project was done on time, within budget, with great follow through, and using competent, dependable and trustworthy outsourced workers. I have no regrets about hiring them and love the results in my brand new bathroom.

There were a few things I really appreciated about Renewal. First was that I was never expected to hang around waiting for the inspector, plumber, electrician, etc to arrive. They always took care to meet them and unlock the door and didn't just pass out my key to whomever needed it. Secondly, I appreciated that they cleaned up every day, making the home and work area safe for my young kids. They even had a staff person assigned to come by at the end of busy days to assure that things were tidy, secure, sealed off, and cleaned up.

I cannot say enough about my project manager Ron Conte, who made this the most delightful experience. On the contrary, I would work with Ron again anytime. He is knowledgable, responsible, responsive, with a great eye for details, plus he's SUCH a nice man. If you have a job for the "Small Projects" division, ask for Ron

Renewal Design-Build gets high marks from me for every step of their design-build process. A collapsing concrete patio on one side of my 60-year-old house was unusable, unsafe and unsightly. Renewal designed a screened porch to replace it that provides a pleasant, mosquito-free outdoor sitting room. My house sits on two levels, with the back side higher than the front, requiring a tall foundation for the porch. To make the best use of this space, Renewal designed a convenient storage shed underneath the porch and a set of sturdy concrete steps to the upper level. The storage shed and porch blend well with the style of my house and also add to its value. Before the actual work began, I was shown a set of computer design renderings of how the completed porch and shed would look. Once things got under way, the project manager kept me well informed.
Throughout the project I was aware of and pleased with the craftsmanship and conscientiousness of the Renewal crew. I was also impressed with how neat they left the site at the end of each work day. All of the Renewal folks were courteous, informative and committed, and I always felt that my project, though small, was important to them.
Renewal folks I was most in touch with were Peter Michelson, CEO; David Michelson, president; Ron Conte, Small Projects Division manager; Tony Miller, project manager. These guys made sure things were done right and they never failed me.

Renewal just finished renovating the entire first floor of our home in Decatur - they finished several weeks early and exactly on budget. Their careful planning and attention to detail in the design, build and finish was extraordinary. The whole team at Renewal is professional, honest and incredibly knowledgeable. Our wonderful new home is great example of what is possible from a company who has integrity, tremendous insight and years of experience.

I wish I knew how easy it was going to be (and how great our renovation would turn out) we would have done this years ago.

Renewal Construction is THE best renovation/construction team in Decatur! I called them based on an advertisement I saw in a Decatur magazine, and -- guess what? -- a REAL person (Brent!)answered the phone. (My inquiries to other companies went to voicemail and most of the time I never heard back.) My experience with Renewal can best be expressed with one word: INTEGRITY. Every person, from the top down, was a person of integrity, honesty and trust. I will always sing the praises of Peter, Brent, John, Andre, Jurgen, Teresa, Matt, Boise, and others. They respected me, my space, my (small) budget, and my time. I live in a condo and now have a beautiful master bath and an updated kitchen. Renewal made it SO easy for me to live in the midst of the project. I recommend them without reservation, and I will call them again. My project was small, yet they treated it with great respect. You should call them TODAY and experience the magic!

Renewal Construction was the third contracting company I employed to work on my home. Their staff was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and punctual. They paid close attention to every detail of my home renovation and made no issue of design changes half-way through the project. The quality of their work was well worth the investment. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a home renovation.

Wow - they exceeded my expectations on my kitchen renovation. What we did: Replaced and/or matched hardwood floors, installed granite countertops, beadboard, new sink, tile backsplash, new cooktop,new casement kitchen window, repainted kitchen, D/R, 1/2 bath and replaced ped sink in bath. Our house looks virtually brand new even with the (mostly) same appliances and cabinets. What they did: Created a formal renovation program with a project coordinator then project manager. Came in on budget and on time! Contracts clearly state expectations and action points for all parties. No surprises. Everyone pretty much showed up when they said they would. Quality of work very high leaving only a minor punchlist which was completed in a day. Worksite was very clean and really ingenious use of a dustshield which worked wonderfully - particularly given that floors had to be sanded and we have a living room that is open to the second floor - I'm still surprised at the cleanliness that was maintained. I plan on using Renewal for my masterbath renovation - I better book them nowI really can't recommended them highly enough - these folks are just good people.

Renewal Construction prides itself on its customer service and high quality craftsmanship. In my opinion, they excel in both these areas. For consumers looking for budget home renovation on a shoestring, RC is probably not the best choice. On the other hand, for people who want to customize their spaces, who have specific wants (or problems to solve), who want a transparent style of project management, and who want very high quality craftsmanship, then Renewal Construction is the VERY BEST choice in the Decatur/Dekalb area. I am thrilled with the work that RC did for me--from project planning to completion. I have enthusiastically recommended them to several other people.

I had a large tree fall on my house which did a good bit of damage. The insurance companies initial estimate was very low and no one was willing to do the work for that amount. When I told Renewal about my situation they took over the talks with the insurance company and were able to get double the insurance companies original offer. Renewal was a pleasure to work with from start to finish and I will be calling them again for future renovations to my home. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

We have never worked with a company as good as Renewal. They went above and beyond to make sure that everything they did on our project met with our satisfaction. We saw them and talked to them nearly every day, and they were professional and responsive. All I can say is these guys are the best.
