DO NOT GO HERE!
The Aveda Institute ruined my hair. I went in for blonde highlights and a hair cut. The stylist bleached my hair white and turned my roots orange. She tried to fix it, but instead turned my hair a variety of shades of black, grey, purple, and orange. Finally one of the managers there tried to fix it. My hair ended up black with white streaks. I left the salon in tears and refused to pay. I would recommend that you just go to a regular salon where you know what you are getting. It costs WAY too much to fix their mistakes and they really don't seem to care about your hair once it's ruined.

Worst Experience and Horrible Follow Up
I got my highlights done it they went purple. The teacher allowed me to leave the salon like that; it was not until I pulled my hair back that I saw the mess. Called the salon, was told I would get a call from the teacher. Nothing. Called again and was told I will receive a call from the director,nothing. Called again and nothing. They don't want to give you the money back nor products to help heal the hair from all the damage they created. The money I safed is not worth the pain, It cost me more to correct it than to get it done. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

My secret hair cut place
I cannot tell you enough how much time is put into my hair every time I go. I know it seems scary that the stylists aren't quite professionals, but they really take the time to understand what you want. It's really difficult to pass up a haircut at that price too.

not worth the savings
While the student who did my hair was one of the nicest people I have ever met, the other staff were rude, the instructor said he would come back to check my hair (which he did NOT), and the person who rang me up really pressured me to buy their products. My hair was supposed to be highlighted - well, the front right side is a chunk of yellowy-orange The instructor had the student redo the color, but it honestly does not look better, and the instructor never came back to look at it. Like I said, the student was very nice and I felt bad to her, but unfortunately I am the one who has to live with the bad hair, which I still had to pay for

Best Cut for the Buck, Guaranteed
I typically pay between $30 and $40 for a shampoo and cut. A friend told me to get a cut at Aveda cause the value was awesome. For $15 I received a wonderful cut, and the overall experience was great. Almira did a great job, and I've been back a couple times! Definitely the best value in town.

Hit or miss
Can be the best or the worst experience you will have in terms of the hair services, but I highly recommend the facials.

Never Again! ( Dyed, Fried, & Laid to the Side)
I went in to have my hair highlighted. The salon was gorgeous, but then, looks are deceiving. So, a student on the verge of graduating colored my hair. My colorist didn't even get an instructor to sign off on the color formulashe asked her friend (who was also a student) what she thought. The two imbeciles put their heads together and, believe me, they were not cut out for chemistry. I doubt if they even have a clue what it is. Stupid meI should've known better. To cut a long story short, my hair turned out bright red. I looked like the mutant child of Lucille Ball and Ronald McDonald. I had a hissy fit, and that's when the instructor finally came. She re-colored my hair, and it turned out nearly jet black!!!This whole hair horror story took over SEVEN hours. And then, they made me pay for it! Something about the "service" was free, but I had to pay for the chemicals or some kind of B.S. I was just glad to get out of that hell hole.
I called Christopher and he promised to send me free hair care products to condition my totally fried hair. Well, they never came. I called back, and was told Christopher was no longer employed there. No other compensation was offered. It was the absolute WORST hair experience ever. They make you sign that waver when you come in for a reason. Otherwise, I would've had a lawyer.

awesome experience
This salon is wonderful. The atmosphere is very cool and everyone is friendly. The stylist are very talented and really help you achieve the look you want. Overall, the experience was great and my hair looks amazing!
Con : Take too much time to get my hair done!!

I would never go again.
I went for a pedicure and my sister for highlights. I know they are students (hence their disclaimer for the possibility of bad service), but I was cut by the toenail clipper! I yelled before the toenail clipper could cut further. I thought it was just me, but no one knows how you can mistake a nail for the skin on someone's toe unless you were closing your eyes. I hope the clippers were sterilized and I have no disease. When I was paying, the lady tells me that everyone loves this guy for the salon service (Either I got lucky or the lady was confused). My sister's hair turned out well, but they tell us at the end they don't accept gift certificates even though Aveda is a national chain, and the certificate was also purchased from another Aveda Institute -- that doesn’t make sense. Debating makes no difference, they will do what they want and we paid more for the visit than we expected to. We also had to wait about 4 hours from waiting to getting the service finished. Everything put together, well, it’s not worth saving the money vs. a place that is salon and not a salon school. Actually for the pedicure, it’s the same price as some other normal salons who will do a much better job (just get out of the fancy Buckhead area).
