Atlanta Residential Designers

S. E. Stonebrook contractors recently completed a 9000 sq. ft. office building designed by Atlanta Residential. The design was very complete and easy to understand with more than adaquate detail. As the contractor I worked very closly with Larry during the design phase. Larry made numerous trips to the jobsite during construction to view the progress. Any time you get a host of people together to work collaboratively on a project, there's always the reality of personalities to deal with. Even a well qualified & talented person in their field can make a project go sour in a number of ways by their attitude towards others and in the way they communicateor "don't communicate." Larry Ostrom, of Atlanta Residential Designers, combines the skill & talent of his craft along with the diplomacy and social skills needed in orchestrating a group effort. I had the pleasure of working with Larry on an elaborate log home project that required such orchestration. Larry helped to break down the common barrier between designer, material supplier, & builder by listening, asking good questions, speaking respectfully to all involved, & by providing clear direction. He even made a personal trip to our log home manufacturing plant to meet with our client & team of folks responsible for producing his design. I've subsequently consulted with Larry on other projects with the same positive results, and will continue to do sobecause my business, bottom line, depends upon this kind of artful professionalism.

ARD's Larry Ostrom has the talent to correctly interpret into his designs what you want. We have done three major projects to our estate which have been flawless. He has worked closely to our input, then meticulously considered the architectural details to provide a plan that perfectly fits our desires and the style of the house. Larry's attention to detail is unmatched.

My wife and I own a small business and have wanted our own commercial building for many years, but when we decided to build, finding someone to draw the building, we wanted, proved to be another hurdle. The architects we interview all wanted to sell us their concept, plus a long wait until they could get to our small job. We found Larry Ostrom, ARD,Inc. through a referral from our land surveyer. As a retailer I am a strong believer in word of mouth recommendations. Larry was the perfect person to draw our small commercial building. He listened to what I wanted and took my rough drawing and drew us a beautiful finished building. Larry offered guidance, which was appreciated, but never pushed his ideas. Almost every week a customer or fellow retailer tells me what a nice building I have. The design for our home was done by L.D. Ostrom of Atlanta Residential Designers, Inc. in 1988. The project went very well, was completed on schedule, and within budget. We had no surprises in the project. When we are ready to design our retirement home, L.D. Ostrom of Atlanta Residential Designers, Inc. will design it.

Larry was the residential designer for our house and studio near Dallas, GA. We had looked at other architects to help us with the design of our home, but they wanted to charge 1/3 of the total building costs. We could not afford that. Then we were introduced to Larry who's fees were about 1/4 of what an architect would charge. So we decided to go with him. And we're so glad we did!

The one thing we really appreciated about Larry is that he doesn't have a big ego. If we wanted something in the design of our house, he was always willing to accomodate us - making sure, of course, that it was able to be done, structurally. In other words, we felt he took to heart the statement "The client is always right". He didn't get upset if we changed something he had introduced, he would just agree and make the changes.

He was also very prompt and courteous. If he promised another round of drawings on Wednesday, then they were ready on Wednesday. We always felt respected for our input, and he always treated us with kindness. He's not only a great designer, but a great friend.

We recently used ARD for an addition to our house in downtown Atlanta. We are very pleased with the quality of the design. Our designer was extremely friendly and worked with us to develop a set of plans that best meets our needs. Construction is currently underway, and I know we will be very satisfied with the end result.

Five years ago we built a home at Reynolds Plantation, after working with Atlanta Residential Designers and Larry Ostrum. The design process was exciting, efficient and stress free. Larry has a wealth of talent, resources and great ideas; however, the best part of our relationship was and is that he designed the home WE wanted, not one that he thought we ought to build, at a very reasonable price.

Hopefully, we're in our "dream" home; if that turns out not to be the case, we would go back to Larry at Atlanta Residential and do it all over again. Start your next home with Atlanta Residential Designers and Larry Ostrumyou'll be glad you did!

We have completed our log home "Soaring Eagle" in the North Georgia Mountains. Mr. Ostrom worked with us closely right from the beginning including not only site visits but also a trip to the Honest Abe Log Home provider in Tennessee to be sure that everything went well.
He was responsive to all of our suggestions and questions. His attention to detail cannot be overstated as he avoided many potential errors.
We are extremely pleased with our home and recommend him to all without reservation.
