I had a water leak that was costing me hundreds of dollars in water bill. I found this company on Kudzu. When I called, I was told that they would have to find the leak before they could give me an estimate of what it would cost. No mention was made of an hourly rate for the investigation of the source.
A man from Ridgeway came to the house on a Saturday and dug outside the wall to the foundation and did not find the leak. He never went near the water heater. After 2 hours he did not find the leak. This was in July. Theleak was discovered by another individual and repaired. The man turned off the main water connection, went straight to the water heater and listened to the flow of water through the pipes. He heard the flow from the hot water pipes. He felt on the floor under the washer and it was warm. He located the leak under the concrete floor around the hot water pipe going into the house. This was in 30 minutes. On November 5th, I get a threatening call from 'Jamie' at Ridgeway that I owed $290 and if I did not pay by November 6th he would refer this to a collection agency. This was the first call I ever got from this company that I owed money. When I asked for the details he reads from an invoice that a leak was repaired under the concrete slab of the house and there was a second leak that did not want repaired.When I told him who had done the repairs he claimed that I owed for 2 hours effort to locate the leak. I now have to face their lawyers.

10-15-09: Ridgeway was called to repair a very clogged sewer line after the first company essentially gave up. The clog was determined to be caused by roots entering the pipe at the city connection about 16 feet under the driveway. After several tries with a root cutter, a complete replacement was determined to be the only solution. Ridgeway completed the job at the agreed price in one day. The house was without service for only a few hours even though all services to the house had to be exposed and reworked as part of the excavation. They did the work professionally and cleaned up the area before they left. The price was very reasonable considering the difficulty of the repair and the excavation needed. I would highly recommend them for this type of work.

Called Thursday morning to have someone fix my toilet, Said they would be out that evening. No one never showed up or called.I called them that evening and was told they were stuck at a another job, so I rescheduled for Friday. Again on Friday no one showed or called. Husband called them twice that morning and they kept telling him that we were next on the list.Never showed or called. Needless to say we called someone else and my toilet is fixed. No customer service!!

They replaced the Grey PB water pipe from my Water Meter to the House.
Member Comments: Saturday morning I woke up to water gushing out of the ground by my Water Meter. After I shut off the water flow I immediately went to the Web to search Angie and Kudzu and the BBB. Ridgeway was one of the three I chose to call. Only Ridgeway answered on a Saturday. Luckily, they had a Truck and crewperson working this Saturday in the area and could be at my house in three hours. The Truck arrived as promised. It had everything needed on the Truck to complete the job in the one visit. After four hours, the job was done and I had water again. The price may have been "fair" and "competitive", but it still hurt to pay $825. for one man and one truck and 40 feet of Black Poly pipe for four hours work. Overall I am very satisfied.

After I posted about no return call with an estimate, I got a call from the owner Allen Ridgeway himself offering an apology for the email estimate never going out. He took full responsibility for it. He told me they do have a non plumber do estimates, and I understand where I had a straightforward request to put in a hot water recirculation pump. He had a licensed Master Plumber come by today, and when he saw that I also needed repair to the expansion tank, he spent 2 hours on that and did not charge me even a trip charge. The work itself was neat and thorough and included installing a drain that had not been put in correctly earlier. (It was a botched job from the HVAC people I used to install the hot water heater 4 years ago.) The plumber still left it up to me whether to use Ridgeway for the pump install. When their price was in line with the other three estimates I already had gotten, I did not hesitate to have them finish the work. I was very impressed with their desire to win over a customer and take the time to do the job right. I am sorry to have written the earlier comment when I didn't hear back from them, but am very pleased with their follow up. I dealt with more than 16 subs after contracting a bathroom addition on to our house, and this level of customer service and commitment to the business is remarkable. I am just glad to find a great plumber b/c I live in a 40 year old ranch that always has something that needs attention.

Alan and Tim did a great job - Coming out late Friday to diagnose (tapping into line and snaking A LOT), then showing up early and staying late Monday, and finishing up early Tuesday. I'm very pleased with the job and the price. Thanks!

I've had Ridgeway out to our house twice in the past few months, once to replace a water heater and a second time to repair our sewer line.

They were on time and provided some of the best plumbing service I've dealt with. Tim is like a surgeon on the back-hoe and will take care of your yard and landscaping!

I will only use Ridgeway going forward and highly recommend them.

I called them around 930am, they were at my house by 1015am, the problem was solved to my satisfaction by 1045am. The plumber wore surgeon's shoe covers into my house, was smart, professional, and skilled. Not sure I could ask for more.

They helped us with our new bathroom remodel, and they did it all. Installed a new drain, new fixtures, and new sinks.What a life saver.
