Dog School 101

There aren't enough stars to rate how awesome Dog School, Xalina, and Sandy are!!!!


I *had* a 10 month old bulldog puppy (Bob) who would constantly jump on people, excessively whine, and pulled me during walks! Bob did not have any socialization with other dogs. I live in Savannah, but I traveled all the way to Atlanta to get Sandy and Xalina's help!


After 1 day of Dog School, my family and I could tell a difference in his behavior. We only had enough time to have 3 full days of training, but he's such a different dog! It's great!!! I came home to show my husband how much Bob (and I) learned. He was very suprised and excited! Now, Bob is calmer, no whining (since we've been home 1 dayyay!), and he heels when we walk on the leash!!!!!!


We will be going back for more sessions in December. :)

We rescued a 2 year old dog that we were told was a bearded collie, with no manners. My son and I took him to day school and after one day he was able to sit and stay. Xalina and Sandy also told us that he was NOT a bearded collie, but a terrier mix. The next week he started to growl at our 6 year old daughter for no reason. After another day at school his manners improved more, but they noticed that he started to exhibit more bad "terrier" traits - like growling at other dogs. My 11 year old son was working with him every day and bonded quickly, but after our last lesson the dog growled at our daughter in front of Xalina. She quickly told us that the growling would escalate to biting and that this dog was probably not the best dog for our family. She realized that this would break our son's heart, but she knew it would be best for us if we returned the dog to the rescue group. She wrote a letter for us to give to the group. Xalina encouraged us to get a puppy and we did the very next day.
Today our 14 week old aussie doodle is in day school and the puppy classes. Her bad manners are dwindling thanks to the hard work of Xalina and Sandy - and my son. I would highly recommend these ladies and the wonderful staff at Dog School 101!

Dog School rescued our family! We thought we'd rescued a lab puppy - but the Xalina and Sandy are the true rescuers.

They welcomed us with arms wide open. We took our pup to basic training - Xalina and Sandy welcomed all of us - adults, kids, even our older dog. Each of us is more secure and better behaved now that our expectations are clear. We thought we knew it all - we've had great dogs before - but Xalina and Sandy polished us off.

We also love their day school. It is great for socializing dogs of any age.

If you're reading this and considering Dog School, give them a try. Be patient at first - they like to give everyone all the attention they need - which sometimes results in waiting time for others. Don't get upset about thisjust wait your turn (waiting is an important skill to learn - your dog will learn it here!).

We were also concerned about the cost, but now we feel that we received the better end of the deal! Shhh! Don't tell.

We're having a great time training with our dog here. The classes are fun and informative and we're learning a lot. We saw results during our first class. We're planning to enroll our dog in the agility class next. We love the trainers and the open feel of the place.

we are so very happy with our experience at dog school 101 and their day school program. our dog had separation anxiety and potty training issues which were resolved in a few days of day school. the trainers are very knowledgeable and were helpful in teaching us what to do at home. our dog is no longer anxious and we are so grateful to dog school 101.

My dog Dixie and I had a great experiance!
We attended basic obiedance training,then CGC training and testing. It is truly amazing that my dog passed the CGC test. It was only possible through the guidence of all the great people at dog school101. They recieve and deserve high marks from me.

The trainers are very knowledgeable and teach positive reinforcement techniques. I attended Basic Obedience and Canine Good Citizen classes with my yorkiepoo and it was great. They even assist with preparing us to pass the test to become a pet therapy dog!

Love of pet is freely expressed with each down, down-stay, and sit! Each pet and their owners are treated with respect and a special love for what our pets bring to our families and how they can serve the community. The lesson I have learned is what I (the human) can give back as my 'Abby' shares her gifts to others through her kisses and hugs!!!

We bought a German Shepherd puppy and wanted to train it properly. We went to a few dog schools in our area and weren't very impressed. We stopped by Dog School 101 and were immediately made welcome. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and "speaks canine". I've seen this school handle dogs as big as English Mastiffs to as small as Chihuahuas with astonishing results. Also, they have special experience with german shepherds. Our dog went through their "Beginner Obedience" and just graduated her "AKC Canine Good Citizen" training. We are VERY happy with the results of our dogs' training and would have NO problem recommending this school to an owner of any dog of any age!!

Our first weeks with The Dog found on the streets of our neighborhood were a love-terror relationship! While we considered ourselves dog-savvy, The Dog outwitted us at every turn. Food, water, shelter, and our love were inadequate to the task of turning The Dog into a family pet. She was a terror. She showed her need for more by digging up my landscape treasures, chewing any basement items she could reach, and destroying the skirt of our sofa while our son slept on it. She was impossible on the leash, strong and determined, squirrel-crazy, and aggressive towards other dogs. Our vet gave us stern warnings about what her future behaviors might look like if we did not get her appropriate training. He recommended Dog School 101 and an evaluation there by Sandy and Zalina. We enrolled Lucy (formerly, The Dog) in Dog Day School for some intensive socialization and followed up with Dog Obedience. Lucy has learned to play with, instead of snarl at, other dogs; she walks well on a leash despite taunts from squirrels and wild rabbits; and has rapidly learned to respond to obedience commands. She has become a well-loved family pet. Zalina and Sandy at Dog School 101 have accomplished the incredible! Dog School 101 has been terrific for Lucy and for our family!
