Friendly customer service
The tanning services here are great and they have tons of options. I have difficulty getting tan, and this place works for me. They are really friendly and I never have to wait long.

Terrible !
I signed up for 2 months of tanning and they failed to tell me that I had to send a "Certified" letter to cancel if I chose not to tan after that or they had the right to continue to charge my credit card. They have refused to refund my money to me this is terrible customer service. I won't go back and don't recommend them at all!

All membership rules are outlined in detail on membership sheets and in large font on the membership agreement that all clients sign. We hide nothing in fine print and believe 100% in full disclosure. We run our business and our membership programs with honesty, integrity, and straightforwardness. We even waived the 30 day notice to cancel for this client. It's unfortunate that we get blamed for the client's lack of communication with us but we will continue to do our best for everyone.

You get what you pay for, which is a great tan
I've never been a regular visitor to tanning salons, and am VERY frugal with my money, but Solarium is one of the few places that I will spend the big bucks. It's totally worth it, although the prices don't allow me to go as often as I'd like to.

The beds and bathroom are always clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly and seems knowledgeable (even if only superficially). Every now and then they'll have special discount weekends, which is when I usually try to buy product or packages.

The only problem I've ever had was in regards to a product that I bought. I was advised by a staff member to purchase a certain item based on the tanning goals that I described to him, and the results were not at all what I asked for. When I tried to exchange it for a different product, I was told that they couldn't return anything. The best offer I got was a small discount on the item that I did want to purchase, but the other stuff just went to waste. On the plus side, the manager did let me borrow her face product once, which was very nice of her. Of course, they sell

Just because of the vendor's response...
I was looking for somewhere to tan close to my job and came across this salon and reviews. I give fair consideration of all reviews and even though there may be 1 or 2 bad reviews, generally will still find out for myself. However, based on the company response to the review, I would never go to this salon! If these customers felt as though they were being misled or did receive good customer service, the salong should respond negatively that "some peope" choose to do certain thingsPerception is everything and if the client "perceived" to receive bad service or "perceived" to be misled, you would think the salon would just apologize and not criticize what the client has said.maybe the same person that "misled" the client and offered bad customer service is the same person that wrote the response to the reviews.I would never go anywhere that would bash their clients on such a public form.

Great Experience
I had a great experience at Solarium. Lisa and Natalie both were of great help and were in no way pushy or inexperienced as the other reviewer suggests. I brought my own lotion, which they had no problem with. They listened to what I needed and found the best package for me. I am very satsified with the service I received and will continue to tan at Solarium Tanning!

High Pressure Sales -- Not High Pressure Tanning
I've been tanning for years and I know my skin type. Each time I've visited The Solarium, the staff is extremely overbearing on selling their product line of lotions. First of all, their product line is extremely expensive and I have found a lotion that's right for my skin type. I was told to "hurry up and use my lotion so that I could buy some of their product." I was also told that my lotion wasn't good enough and what I had was a waste of money. I'm really turned off by the high pressure "selling" techniques from the juvenile counter help. Also, I purchased a monthly tanning package only to find out that there's a one-time fee of $30 to start the package. I was told this after I turned over my credit card! This is really poor business and the entire experience is annoying -- I will not continue my membership.

We do our best to hire the most customer service oriented staff possible. We succeed 95% of the time and unfortunately, the lack of professionalism by one employee can poorly reflect on a great business that has been servicing clients for over 10 years. As for membership fees, nothing is ever hidden or concealed in fine print; in fact, everything is highlighted in bold letters on each price sheet and membership agreement that clients must read and sign. It's unfortunate that some choose to disregard these safeguards we put in place and then air their dissatisfaction in this forum. Lastly, we have lotions anywhere from the low end to the very high end, so we do have something for everyone here.
