The Jim Ellis Automotive Conglomerate!
This VW dealer is on that huge strip of land that seemingly encompasses Jim Ellis's total domination of the Atlanta car-buying experience.

I took my 2009 VW Jetta for scheduled maintenance there recently. My thoughts:

-- The location, while convenient to the perimeter I285, is not convenient for anything else! (Unless you want to look at cars).

-- There is no food within walking distance other than a family run cafe some distance down the road. I forget the name, but you can walk there. It's a 1970s throwback and the food is decent. It was called something like Cafe Oga. Worth a visit if only you want to experience what eating out was like in 1974. [cue: Linda Ronstadt]

-- The dealer service people were pleasant.

-- The Up-Sell Attempt: My service adviser told me something odd. He said Jim Ellis VW recommends getting my Jetta serviced more [twice as] often than VW pays for under the standard plan (oil changes every 10,000 miles). It seemed like a fake up-sell attempt -- wouldn't VW's scheduled maintenance be all my car needs? Surely the dealer is trying to pad the service schedule for its own financial benefit.

-- There was free coffee and doughnuts in the waiting room, and the obligatory flat screen TV with the Discovery channel playing. One newspaper and some magazines. The coffee was pretty bad. I did not try the doughnuts. There was also a vending machine, I recall.

-- The bathroom (mens) was clean.

Overall, a decent experience.

Great Service Experience!
"The consult with Lisa Bokenhagen was a great experience. While I was the very first customer on a Saturday morning, Lisa was bright, cheerful and helpful. She listened to me describe the issues I had with my Jetta and made sure she understood my concern and noted it so the service techs could look into it. Her whole customer service perspective and attitude was truly awesome. Hats off to Lisa! Mercedes Spratt"

Friendly and professional service
Jim Ellis in Chamblee does a great job with VW service. They have an experienced and friendly staff that makes sure that your VW is working right and makes sure that you are treated with respect and the utmost professionalism.

Tip Top Car Lot

Top Notch Customer Service
"I am actually turning in my 2006 Passat tomorrow. I recently leased a 2009 BMW 328I. I have thoroughly enjoyed this Passat, as I did my 2003 Passat, but it was time for a change & I decided on the BMW. I do want to share with you that my overall experience with Jim Ellis Volkswagen has been great! I would like to specifically recognize my Service Advisor, Ed Ferris. Ed has consistently gone out of his way to assist me with all of my vehicle's needs, while ALWAYS providing exceptional customer service. You are very fortunate to have an associate like Ed on your team! People like Ed are few & far between! I hope you will recognize him for his efforts. Andrew Pierpont"

so far so good!
took my 2006 vw beetle in for warranty work , lisa was nice and helpful, just nervous they didnt give me copy of work ?now im waiting to see if the rest of my experience is a good one , i will follow up with update on the other part of warrenty work they are going to do ? so so far so good fingers are crossed ! dealerships should do the very best to give great experiences with the economy the way it is because their are other dealerships around so if i was in this biz i would be wooin people in and keeping them happy ! (just an opinion)

The Accidental Buyer
"We walked into the dealership "just looking." I own an 11-year-old mini-van which we thought we should replace soon, but not necessarily immediately. We were served by sales consultant Kenny Cook. He walked us through the advantages of the new Sport Wagon, which seemed a reasonable replacement for my mini-van. But he also extolled the virtues of the diesel version, which the dealership didn't even have to look at! He was so knowledgeable and convincing, we asked him to try to find us one to test drive. He did that, and when the version we drove didn't suit me in color and options, he found exactly the vehicle I wanted in another state. Without his encouragement, knowledge, and friendly cooperation, we would probably still be looking. I feel I have not only found my new car, but found a new friend as well. Thanks to Jim Ellis (from whom I bought a VW Beetle almost 40 years ago!) and especially to Kenny Cook, for a great experience.--Edith Fusillo"

Jim Ellis VW - Great Place for Service
Since purchasing my pre-owned VW Jetta Station Wagon from Jim Ellis in 2006, I've taken my car in for service on numerous occasions. Each time, I have worked with Lisa Bokenhagen, who is courteous, straightforward and most helpful. I've owned VWs since I could drive. My first car was a hand me down VW Beetle (original), circa 1974. I've since owned several other new VWs. I can tell that service at Jim Ellis VW is a top down philosophy -- it shows in all my dealings with the dealership from the salespeople, technicians, Maxine, and Hernan -- to, most especially, Lisa. You can bet I'll be back in there for the 60K mile check up -- and my next car purchase. THANK YOU, Renee Valdes.

Exceeded my expectations!
" Once again, Lisa went above and beyond for my needs as a client of Jim Ellis VW. Lisa assured me that the issue with my new car has been carefully and thouroghly looked at, worked on and repaired. Lisa had my car in the shop over a weekend, to have it test driven multiple times and allow for any recurring noise/problems to arrise, while in Jim Ellis's hands. I was given a courtesy car in a very timely fashion and was notified in plenty of time to pick up my car during the work day and still make it home in traffic time to pick up my son. My car had even been washed upon my pick up, which was a very pleasant surprise and extremely professional touch on behalf of Jim Ellis VW. THANK YOU! -- Laura Coker ".
